We stayed at the Oaklands hotel for two nights while visiting family nearby. We chose this hotel because we had seen it on previous trips to the area – what a mistake. The room (standard double) was clean BUT, was very small, the furniture was very worn, with possibly the most uncomfortable bed I have ever had the misfortune to... more

First of all before I go into the negatives. Most of the staff there are extremely welcoming and aware of the pitfalls of staying in the hotel. Recently stayed there for 2 weeks on business. I'm afraid it is an experience never to be repeated. Lovely setting etc but the approach up a potholed track with high hedges so you... more

Got to the room and thought it didnt look to bad...until we sat on the bed....2 singles pushed together with a zip down the middle to keep the matresses together. not at all comfortable. me and my partner had to sleep a foot apart from each other!... more

We stayed for 1 night only in February on a Saturday evening. We were attending a gala dinner / ball and decided to make it a little more relaxing. We paid £60 for a double room including breakfast, about right for the quality. Clean, warm and brightly decorated room with good bathroom facilities. Great breakfast choice with pleasant friendly staff.... more

Having received an e-mail invitation to consider a range of offers at various hotels within the Legacy Hotels group, I consulted the company website and booked Diner, Bed & Breakfast for one of the offers at the Oaklands Hotel for the Bank Holiday period. The hotel was chosen because the website offered a small hotel in a quite country location... more

Stayed for 3 days for a wedding in Aug 06 This lovely house has been spoiled somewhat by the ugly extensions for rooms added sometime in the 70's I guess They wouldnt be allowed to spoil the fascia of this beautiful house nowadays Inside the integrity of the old building remains and the modern decor has been blended in somewhat... more

Small hotel with rooms on the small side but what it lacks in space it more than makes up for in friendliness & service. The place was spotless & the staff couldn't do enough to make our stay pleasant. The restaurant was first class - would go back tomorrow. A great spot for Grimsby and the surrounding area or for... more

We stayed at the Oaklands Hotel last month and found the service excellent and the food was delicious. A real home from home and loved the four poster beds - a real tough of luxury. We would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in the area. more
