Only a few comments to make about this hotel as I only stayed here three days. The hotel is i need of updating its old fashioned and tired. The rooms are heavily scented with air spray. mostly because it was trying to mask the smell of smoke. The beds are uncomfortable and the bathroom had mould in the tiles and... more

I only stopped here as I was caught in the unexpected snow which closed the roads. I was surprised to find that it was much better than I expected, not five star but comfortable and the room was clean and tidy. Good breakfast, and unique dining room. more

Stayed here for a family celebration in November. When we arrived we asked about having lunch and were directed to the Restaurant where a waitress showed us to a table. Apparently it is a self-service carvery but no-one told us. We sat there for some time waiting for a waitress to attend to us and I noticed that guests were... more

I have stayed at the Admiral Rodney on a couple of occasions when working in the area. Overall I found it a nice hotel. One room I had was in the newer part of the hotel was very large, and on my second stay I had a smaller room at the front of the hotel which was ok. Both rooms... more

I was not impressed with the hotel at all. I was allocated a smoking room when we asked for non smoking. After complaining I was told to speak to other guests to see if they could swap with me (we were at a wedding). In my room the curtains did not shut, the towel rail was broken in the bathroom,... more

We have stayed at the Rodney a few times as my husband has family in Horncastle. The Rodney is a lovely hotel that is central to Horncastle (not that the town is that big!) which serves good food and the rooms are very nice. The staff have always been very helpful and pleasant, even when we asked for a food... more

Check-in was quick. Room MASSIVE (Had two single beds and a double bed just for two people). Dinner was a little disappointing, small portions but at least the food was edible and served hot unlike some places we have eaten at before. Breakfast ok, small portions and lack of variety, the waitress on the second day was not very friendly,... more

Stayed at the Admiral Rodney for 7 nights. The hotel is charming, very clean and the staff is like family. Victoria and Emma were especially helpful and friendly. We had a full English breakfast every morning and had dinner at the hotel every night. The food was well prepared and very good. The hotel offered carvery services and had a... more
