Rickety room. No curtain on door so light flooding in at 5am. Badly creaking floors from room above and they seemed to be walking around all night! Good value though and nice staff. Food ok, avoid the chicken wings. £5 for 2 frozen wings halved... Served with a limo wilted salad... Main course was excellent though and very very generous!... More

Very friendly hotel with lots of parking, I was on a course nearby and this was great value at £38 including breakfast for a single room. The room was clean and although it was small, had a comfortable double bed, tables but no wardrobe, bathroom was very clean but the towel rail was broken, Tv was on windowsill would have... More

Visited for an evening meal one Saturday. It is a lovely old pub, but a bit draughty near the windows. The food was good value, well presented and freshly cooked. However, it did not feel particularly welcoming on first arrival.

I stayed in the B and B, A lovely old building, the rooms were small, but clean and comfortable enough. The shower enclosure is compact, and a large person may find it a bit of a squeeze. The tv is on the windowsill due to lack of space, which means pulling the curtains and watching tv is quite difficult. However,... More

I have known this Inn for a number of years, and has gone though many re incarnations.. After a poor stay at The William Cecil Stamford for christmas eve and christmas day we were looking for a place open on boxing day for a real Christmas Dinner, the food was superb, service excellent, the new manager has taken the restaurant... I have known this Inn for over 35 years. Last night 28 of us from the MG car Club met for our Christmas Dinner, the food was superb, service excellent, the new owners have taken the restaurant to new heights. We had pre ordered which does help but all the food was freshly cooked, well presented and very tasty .... More

My family and I visited this pub/restaurant on Sunday (10.11.13) for the carvery. The food was good, hot and fresh. The service on the other hand was very slow and not all that attentive. The lady behind the bar appeared to be on a "go-slow" protest of some sort and the waiter was not all that friendly. We would return... More

Took visiting relatives from USA to restaurant. Soup and sandwich order had 2 bread halves wedged against the soup plate. Fish portions were extremely small and the cheesecake tasted so rancid that it was uneatable. Several items we ordered, which were on the menu, were not available and we had to do with alternatives. Lady who served, certainly didn't bother... More

Went for sunday lunch. Fed up waiting to order (over 15 minutes) , so went to the bar and ordered. Cutlery on the table was dirty, then it wasn't replaced after the starter. Prawn cocktail was poor. We had 1 carvery and 1 fish and FROZEN chips. Carvery was basic, but edible. Same for the fish and FROZEN chips. Had... More
