Went here for dinner when we stayed in Alford. We had just got back from Cadwell Park and were starving. We were made to feel welcome as soon as we walked in the door. Lovely owner and staff who could not have been more helpful. I was struggling with the free wifi so they helped me sort that out. We... More

We booked here for a meal,3 adults,3 teens. Yes the place is fairly old fashioned as is the menu. However they accommodated 2 fussy teen girls , one with gluten allergy very well. Food was hot and politely served. 6 three course meals, 3 rounds of drinks £135 . 6 6. 6

Based on a one night B & B stay in room No 12. Our room was clean and very nice but most of the rest of the place that was visible to us, although clean was tired and in desperate need of refurbishment. The food that we had in the restaurant was well cooked and nicely presented although there was... More

We stayed there with a big group celebrating at the local Manor House. There are rooms in the main building and also over the garage. Ours was one of two rooms over the garage up a filthy fire escape £90 per night (£95 in the main building). Toilet and shower were clean and the bed comfortable. However the wallpaper was... More

Visited on a Wednesday night while on holiday. We were on the hunt for a decent steak and a good pint, this place didn't disappoint. The sirloin was cooked very rare as requested, along with a generous portion of proper chips, and some great homemade onion rings - if I go again I'd definitely order a portion of onion rings,... We stayed for one night on a Saturday looked really nice from the pictures we see . When we arrived we was not even shown to our room just given directions on where it was. Once in the room it was a good size with a nice size bathroom , if you can get past the paint pelling off the... More

Stopped for a Sunday lunch, served as a carvery, arrived at around 1pm and they were quite busy but soon found us a table The food was good but the service was not! The woman serving at the carvery gave the distinct impression that she had better things to do elsewhere There were no dinner plates! We had to wait... More

We had to stay one sat evening as hotel our insurance company put us in couldn't do this particular evening. We had a pleasant room, although we weren't keen on having to go outside and up metal stairs in the rain to get to our room Unfortunately they omitted to tell us that they would have a live band playing... Visited over the bank holiday weekend and stayed in the triple family room. Upon arrival in the evening it took around 5-10mins for someone to even greet us, we were waiting in the reception for a long time. When they did greet us we were given a key and told where the room was. No offer of a drink or... More
