Wonderful. Nice hotel, usually pleasantly busy with local trade throughout the day. try the tea and cakes bit. Food is good, service is good. The decor is mostly new, lavishly and caringly installed. Log fires on the colder days. Management is local, hands-on and always around if needed. The rooms (we are local and so havn't stayed here, but have... More

Went to private event for and service was terrible. Staff were lovely and very helpful, one member of our table had a tiny flan compared to the rest of us, and it wasn't requested. Very disappointed. Will be returning to area may try the resturant to see if it is any better.

I booked afternoon tea for my mums birthday, what a treat. Hotel and staff very welcoming. The afternoon tea was delicious with a good choice of sandwiches and cakes and of course a big pot of tea. Woukd highly recommend, very good price too.

Had a really lovely meal for my birthday. David cared for the three of us with respect and courtesy. Our food was fab and the hotel is spotless and comfortable. Can't wait to go back. Couldn't give 5 stars as I have been to hotels that are slightly better, otherwise I would have been happy to.

My girlfriend and I enjoyed a fantastic Valentine's Day stay at The Falcon. On arrival we were swiftly booked into our room by the lovely girls at reception. All the rooms have been recently refurbished and our room, which overlooked the market square, was tastefully furnished with antique French furniture, had a modern and spotlessly clean en-suite and had the... Absolutely tremendous place to eat. Dig friendly in the pump room which has a lovely wood drive fire and giant tv screen should you wish to watch TV whilst eating. Friendly unfussy staff. Menu is wide and interesting. All three if us had a very very enjoyable lunch time meal. Red pepper and sundried tomatoe risotto was hot plentiful and... More

From the outside I always thought this hotel would be a bit stuffy and faded but I have been proved wrong. The staff make the place and the rooms were clean and up to date - I slept like a log. If you had to criticise the lounge bar and dining room are a little dull and could do with... More

In the days of the internet and the automation of the check in process, it is really nice to greeted by a person who not only takes the time to introduce you to the hotel but does it with care and meaning. Its a long time since I was greeted with such politeness. The Hotel is a classic village pub... More

On Tuesday 28th Jan, I had a very long drive with my young son to Uppingham (at night in blinding rain) as a result of which I arrived, stressed and tired, just after the kitchen closed. Not only had the staff tried to call me to make sure we wouldn't go hungry, they hurried to the chef and asked him... More
