Stayed over the weekend, ideal for Loughborough and the University. Staff extremely helpful, room was great, bed comfortable, shower superb. Breakfast was served by young lady, could not have been more helpful, polite and courteous. We added 2 visitors for breakfast the night before and all handled well. Breakfast was very very good. Nothing too much trouble. Would recommend.

Arrived at 2.20pm rushed our order, but all thrilled with what arrived. Fish pie took 25 mins to prepare so we had the olives starter to share. Came on a super platter. The ham and eggs was enormous, the fish was very very hot but tasty. Game casserole was wonderful, and the burger the best with all the trimmings was... More

We needed somewhere close to Nottingham, go just jut one night. On arrival we were greater by friendly staff, who checked us in and showed us to our room. They offered to assist with luggage in the way to the room, which was a surprise at this price point. We were shown around the room in great detail and warned... More

We booked a superior double room. However, the room smelt of dogs, the shower flooded the bathroom and worst of all the bed was very small. Nothing superior about the bed it was probably only 4'6" when we were expecting at least a King Size. However, the food was good and the location convenient for our trip. If you do... More

It was a wonderful stay at the Royal Oak. The owners are great people. We were warmly welcomed to their beautiful furnished B&B that you immediately feel relaxed and at home. Breakfast lunch and dinner was delicious! I would really recommend this hotel if you want somewhere that's homely and individual and a bit off the beaten track. We really... More

Stayed here with my wife in Nov 2014, we both loved the place. Great rooms (spec, clean, safe), bar/restaurant (warm atmosphere, really good food) and friendly helpful staff. Close to the airport too...we'll be back!

Have eaten here 3 times in the past couple of months and have been delighted every time. The food is inventive and tasty with very good portions for those with a decent appetite. The restaurant is quite small so can sometimes feel a bit cramped but this is overcome by the great food. Combine this with good beer & excellent... More

Went as a foursome for Sunday lunch yesterday. We had visited 12 months earlier and the welcome and decor remained at the same high standard. What had changed was the menu. There was an extensive choice with imaginative dishes. The price was higher than a standard carvery pub lunch but what we were served was on another level. We all... More

Attractively designed, spacious and well equipped room with immaculate modern bathroom. Everything was spotlessly clean, and the whole place had a smart, well kempt feel to it. The only things that detracted were a bed that I found too hard, and a pub-style meal that I didn't much like, though the breakfast was better. I would happily stay there again,... More

A pint of good beer and a Royal Oak Belly Pork of Spanish Meatball sandwich including a bowl of home made soup served by friendly staff. This time the soup was roasted pepper, sweetcorn and potato chowder. Simply the perfect lunchtime!
