Our second stay here and it was just as good as the first. The rooms are clean, comfortable and quiet with lovely en-suite bathrooms. Dinner was really very, very good. Service was perfect – attentive but not over enthusiastic and the food was outstanding. All our courses were just delicious. Breakfast the following morning was just as good –it came... More

Stayed one night on way to friends wedding. Early check-in to freshen up and get ready was permitted without any fuss which was very much appreciated. Staff very friendly and helpful. Fittings modern and beautifully clean and although functional everything necessary was provided. Only thing I would say is check that there isn't a function going on. There was what... More

Booked an evening meal. very disappointing. Fillet steak overcooked although presentation was quite nice, sauce was terrible. After our main course we decided to go outside for a cigarette and asked the waitress if it was OK to order our desert after a 10 minute break. On our return five minutes later someone was already sat at our table, so... More

The service staff were infallible. Met with a smile and were helpful throughout our stay. I'd recommend the place to other people as it was just a culmination of little things that lost the royal oak 1 star. Bad points: -Welcome pack in room out of date, wifi password wrong and menu out of date. No bottled water in fridge... More

Eaten here numerous times and yet to have poor experience. Enjoyed a tapas sharing plate with a friend recently. Delicious combination of meat, cheeses, and grilled vegetables. Had with salad side too and glad did as there were not enough leaves for me! Too full for dessert, however have enjoyed some lovely ones in the past!

Stayed overnight whilst visiting the Prestwold Driving Centre which is only 15 mins. away. Accommodation is at the rear of the pub with parking directly outside the room. Room was very modern with king sized bed and walk in shower. Only down side of the room was the outside door which needs a stronger soft closing mechanism and the drawers... More

Had heard many good things about the Royal Oak, both by family and friends. Went with the other half for an anniversary meal, and was certainly impressed by the food. We only had room for 2 courses in the end (rare for me!) We started with the Tapas sharer, which had a great range of meats, cheese and roasted peppers,... More

i have stayed at this establishment recently and am absolutely aghast at one of the latest reviews. I arrived at nine o'clock, a little tired on a business trip. I was shown to my room by a very nice young lady. I settled in, popped the tele on and then read the booklet re guest information. Breakfast was from 0700... More

I chose an overnight stay at this B&B for its location and availability of a hot breakfast as my daughter and I were travelling to the Nottingham university for an open day at Sutton Bonnington. It was a long 4 hours drive from London and we arrived around 8:30 pm. We checked in, had something to eat then went to... More

When booking I mentioned that I was on a Vegan diet, they said it was no problem, so I left it with the Chef to surprise me with a meal. SURPRISED I WAS, what an amazing meal one of the best I have ever had, worthy of a Michelin Star. Could not believe how much of an effort they made... More
