We went here for a birthday lunch and so was fortunate enough for it to be quite. We sat in the restaurant and were the only ones in there (the other diners were in the bar area) but this suited is and the waitress ensured we were not overlooked. The lunch menu was nice, I had the fish and this... More

Excellent food. Menu slightly changed, good to see it updated. Food is always excellent, service spot on and good atmosphere. Would like to see a Provence rose on the wine menu. Beer festival in August is well worth a visit. But best of all it's in our village

We had lunch here just before Christmas and just after Christmas, and both times we were totally impressed. The service is impeccable, the food outstanding and great wine. On our last visitjust after New Year i noticed that christmas pudding was off the menu, but i asked if it was possible to have this as a sweet. To my delight... More

I've dined here a number of times with friends and family and i'm always impressed with the food. The food is reasonably priced and there is a wide selection to choose from on the menu. I usually choose the pork belly which is delicious. Overall it's a nice cosy pub with yummy food, whats not to like?

We chose the Royal Oak for our work Christmas lunch and what a great choice it was. The pub is bright and welciming and the staff friendly and hepful. We had pre orderered from the reasonably priced set menu which looked appetising. On arrival we were served drinks promptly and with a smile. Our table was nicely laid out with... More

Stayed over the weekend, ideal for Loughborough and the University. Staff extremely helpful, room was great, bed comfortable, shower superb. Breakfast was served by young lady, could not have been more helpful, polite and courteous. We added 2 visitors for breakfast the night before and all handled well. Breakfast was very very good. Nothing too much trouble. Would recommend.

Arrived at 2.20pm rushed our order, but all thrilled with what arrived. Fish pie took 25 mins to prepare so we had the olives starter to share. Came on a super platter. The ham and eggs was enormous, the fish was very very hot but tasty. Game casserole was wonderful, and the burger the best with all the trimmings was... More

We needed somewhere close to Nottingham, go just jut one night. On arrival we were greater by friendly staff, who checked us in and showed us to our room. They offered to assist with luggage in the way to the room, which was a surprise at this price point. We were shown around the room in great detail and warned... More

We booked a superior double room. However, the room smelt of dogs, the shower flooded the bathroom and worst of all the bed was very small. Nothing superior about the bed it was probably only 4'6" when we were expecting at least a King Size. However, the food was good and the location convenient for our trip. If you do... More

It was a wonderful stay at the Royal Oak. The owners are great people. We were warmly welcomed to their beautiful furnished B&B that you immediately feel relaxed and at home. Breakfast lunch and dinner was delicious! I would really recommend this hotel if you want somewhere that's homely and individual and a bit off the beaten track. We really... More
