I booked a spa day for my mums birthday. The best massage & facial I've ever had! The staff were polite, friendly & helpful. A special thank you to Elena & Kieran. A great day finished off with a yummy afternoon tea!

Stayed at this hotel with a work colleague on the 23rd July, as we were attending a works training day in the Tennyson suite the following day. Very impressed on view when arriving, gated entrance, old world building. Grounds are beautiful as well. Staff were nice and polite, ask for more shampoo and biscuits, which was not a problem at... Lovely hotel set in beautiful grounds. Very helpful and friendly staff. The room we were in was very nice with plenty of room. Bed had feather pillows which we didn't like but these were changed as soon a we asked for different ones. It was also very warm and we asked if a fan could be provided. This was delivered... More

Stayed here for a business overnighter in mid-July. Having previously stayed at the Mercure, Wigan I was told Kilhey Court was superior where in fact this wasn't at all the case. The decor is very odd indeed, reminiscent of a Victorian gentleman's club. A mix of dark corridors that seem to lead no-where, dark wood-panelled walls adorned with oversize portraits,... More

The hotel is a beautiful old building with great vintage interior. There has been newer annexes added on and they of course let down the whole ambience of the tradition. We were initially given a twin when we had booked a double. But this was rectified relatively quickly with the added bonus of a complimentary drink from the bar. The... More

MacDonald Hotels have always been a name I trusted and where I thought I would receive high standards but, unfortunately, in this particular establishment that was not the case. I visited for one night on business as one of a party of four and the intention had been to get some work done in the evening, a forlorn hope as... More

Needing a real chill out factor, we opted for this as a spa break. What a first class hotel . The staff were courteous and helpful. The spa programme was excellent. We enjoyed the pool, Jacuzzi and steam rooms before our spa treatments, which were out of this world. The marvellous relaxation room, with soothing music, candles and comfortable reclining... More

We only stayed for one night at this lovely hotel. We believe it was originally owned by a brewery owner many many years ago. The setting is beautiful in mature gardens with a large lake/reservoir at the back that you can stroll around. Our room was perfect, quite a good size, enormouse bed and a clean very modern bathroom. There... More

This is our third and finest visit, choosing last Sunday for a quieter and more relaxed attendance. Entering through the electric entrance gates you are greeted by an impressive and grand Manor House, feeling that you have been invited to a select private function, gazing around the splendour of mature grounds. The hotel can be considered in two parts, the... More
