I stayed here as part of a national blind tenpin bowling competition. I was not looking forward to it from reading previous reviews. However I was very pleasantly surprised. It is an older hotel but the rooms were spacious and very comfortable. There were a couple of small issues with the rooms but these were rectified quickly. We had breakfast... More

we stayed one night and after reading reviews were surprised that it was ok. It is a budget hotel but the room was clean, the staff friendly and the food was better than we expected. Overall we had a pleasant stay and could not find fault except it needs bringing up to date.

I stayed here one night for a conference and was provided bed and breakfast at a very good corporate rate (£40). The breakfast was reasonable though nothing special. The lunchtime sandwiches for delegates was tasty, with chips which must be a Lancastrian delicacy - very nice. As others have commented, the decor is rather old. I found a number of... More

A perfect little family sleep over, at a time of bereavement. Friendly and helpful desk staff, although catering/waiting staff were barely visible! Hotel conditions were basic and comfortable at a very very reasonable family room and budget B&B price. The interior was tired but glamour comes with a higher price and glamour was not our aim - basic clean conditions... More

We were on a Caledonian Tour on 11th April Windermere/Southport. Room was good size, food was eatable. They could do with more staff on though as there were 3 coach tours plus guests from Grand National. Guests in the room next to us were very noisy, banged doors, had other people in their room and did not stop until 5am.... More

Booked a Caledonian Tour to Windermere/Stockport for 2 days from 11th April. After reading reviews was apprehensive. I may add we enjoyed our stay and our food was more than I expected and no complaints we enjoyed dinner and breakfast. Our only complaint was about the swimming pool we were led to believe it was open until 6.30pm. My husband... More

Was probably a great hotel in the 70s, as the decor suggests anyway. Lots of little things made this poor. Food was awful, very poor selection of 'guess the meat' served with chips and a mush of vegetables. Bar was dirt cheap which was good, I guess. Rooms were small and dated, shower was rubbish and was essentially a tap... More
