This is our third visit to Stirk House and we just love this Hotel . We stayed with our dog Poppy , and as usual she was made so welcome and fussed over by everyone . ,It is fantastic for dog owners as there is a lovely field and wooded area just outside the room , and beautiful walks from... More

My wife and I booked this hotel on-line as a well deserved 'awayday' after a difficult period of time, healthwise for her. On arrival at the hotel, we were shown to one of the Lodge rooms adjacent to the main hotel building. The room was spacious and immaculate, with a walk in shower, and a king size bed, which we... Stayed one night in the "Lodge"; the room was pleasant enough & comfortable and had a lovely view over the countryside. Food in the restaurant on Saturday evening was delicious, service excellent and everyone friendly, warm atmosphere. Breakfast was really good too, and a brisk walk round the grounds was needed afterwards! At a rate of £130 for 2 for... More

We stayed here for the second time a couple of weeks ago and what a disappointment it turned out to be. The hotel itself is a lovely building in wonderful grounds and the staff are polite and helpful. The lounge has a wonderful fire , just perfect for lunch or a drink. We booked a suite , the Clithero ,... More

Stayed Saturday 29th March, last minute decision based on a recommendation; at a rate of £116 b+b more than I'd like, but the expectations were high. Sadly the room was only adequate, and for the money only having a shower room, with what proved to be a mediocre shower was a bad start. on top of this the bed was... More

A terrrible drive up the M6 after a long week at work and my partner and I were at our wits end. We got to the hotel late having rung beforehand to ensure that we could have a table in the restaurant and this was accommodated without question. As soon as we checked in, we both sighed with relief because... More

Our second visit & just as good as the last . The staff are amazing can't do enough for you . As always superb food . The weather in February when we stayed was really awful very wet & very very windy . Some of the chimney pot fell down & broke a lot of slates on the roof out... More

After calling in for coffee and a sandwich when we have been in the area a couple of times in the past, we had looked forward to having the opportunity to try the hotel for a short break. We stayed two nights 11th 12th March, having booked a suite (room 6) on a dbb basic on the winter deal.on arrival we... If you want excellent food, comfortable bedroom, log fires and super staff, then look no further. Add in amazing value for money and interesting grounds plus a great area of the country to explore. I could wax lyrical on this hotel for a long time, (and have done so to all our friends!) but perhaps the best recommendation is that... More
