Arrived at 6pm; food had stopped serving at 5 (if it had ever been served). Was told 'issues with heating in rooms' - issues were: no heat, no hot water. I booked 3 rooms at the White Bull for my family (family room), my 88 year old dad (disabled requirement) and my cousin & husband (travelling from South Wales). We are attending my eldest sons wedding at The Stirk House just up the road but picked the White Bull as it had a ground floor room with disabled facilities and... More

Why did we go back you might ask? * leather sofas you sink into in front of a log fire * friendly staff who's service is second to none * Clean comfortable rooms * Fantastic menu and beautifully cooked food * Good value... Was everything an English inn should be. Only stayed the one evening but would recommend it without hesitation. From a warm greeting, to a roomy bedroom (with bath not a shower), a great real ale bar and a tremendous menu, we enjoyed the evening and were sent on our way the following morning with a great breakfast. Highlights - the... More
