The place is closed waiting for planning permission which has been refused. Was due to open early 2014. Looks like it will be late Summer. Brewery and new tenants are going to refurbish to a high standard.

What has happened here? I understand that the brewery wanted more business and have enlisted new tenants to run the pub. It is awful! Honestly it was the worst experience i have ever had in a pub! We are locals and use the village put to meet friends and take visitors for lunch at the weekend. Well not anymore. We... More

We did not stay in the hotel. Having read glowing reviews about the great new menu, we chose here to meet up with friends we hadn't seen for over 20 years. Upon arrival, the place was empty and we were told that the kitchen was closed. (A Wednesday? ) We expressed our bitter disappointment. The landlord, on his mobile aside... More

We did not eat here as it looked a very drab and gloomy pub and not very inviting. The place is in need of a good clean and the décor is very strange for a village pub. Also the place was closed all day on the Monday.

Haven't stayed here as I live locally but we've eaten there a few times now. The homous and warm home made bread is to die for! We've tried numerous items on the menu all of which have been delicious, with huge portions! So definitely great value for money!

Called in this pub for a meal on our way back to our hotel as we had been delayed on the Settle/Carlisle railway. We were made to feel welcome and opted for the £13.50 three course. At that price we were a bit concerned that the food would be awful but were pleasantly surprised. I had tempura prawns followed by... More

I booked the White Bull online as I fancied a nice village pub atmosphere. I was breaking a long journey from Aberdeen to Somerset. I was pretty upset to find the pub shut when I arrived, the excuse given that the staff needed a night off as they had worked the bank holiday the day before. I was received Ok... More

Went to this public house/restaurant with a large party. Had contacted the White Bull previous as we wanted to reserve a table (being such a large group), and asked if he would be able to put some balloons etc up. The food was a regular menu or a special menu, most decided on the special menu, as it was a... More
