We turned up late and without a reservation with a very tired 6 month old baby, The Team at Crofters could not have been more welcoming and helpful. Bags were carried to our room and hot drinks were made for us, They even managed to rustle up some lovely late night meals for us even though the kitchens were officially... More

It's hard to be too harsh on this hotel - you get what you pay for so you need to go with a realistic expectation of what you will get. It's not a very impressive looking hotel and our room was more basic than even a B&B room would be. On the plus side there were tea and coffee making... More

Less than basic! Booked 2 rooms for family. One room (a dungeon) was eventually changed after much persuasion, but both the rooms we stayed in were grim. No towels in one room - brought after 3 requests. Only bath towels (no hand) in other room and towels well past their sell by date. The rooms were dusty and grubby and... More

This is a mean revue. Smoking in the bedrooms is not permitted, including hanging out of the window. We had to tell you after endless complaints about the smell and then the noise from your room. This is a disappointing use of trip advisor. Nicola Cheetham - owner More

We stayed at the Crofters Hotel for two nights during August and were not disappointed. Staff were excellent, food superb and rooms cosy and spotless. During our stay we ate in the tavern and both had fantastic meals that were great value for money as the food was excellent and did not go away hungry. I would come again just... More

Thank you for your kind words and recognising the great value that we offer at the Crofters. As a family owned hotel with lovely staff, it is always great to be appreciated. Very basic! Booked a double room for two, only one hand towel and bath towel, they were very thin! Tired looking room and very uncomfortable bed! The bin in the room was still full from the last occupants and one cup wasn't very clean! One of the flood lights fro. The hotel flickered all night and this meant a very... More

My Wife and I stayed for 2 nights at Crofter's, along with several other guests attending a nearby Wedding. Bed and Breakfast, booked via LateRooms.com, was £59(Fri)+£69(Sat) = £128 for our stay, which was excellent value for money. Our room was clean, good-sized, well-furnished and equipped, with comfortable bed. En-suite Bath/shower was full-sized with toiletries and clean towels provided. Crofter's... More

We stayed here for two nights. The serving staff at breakfast (good) and in the bar area were friendly and polite and the food reasonable pub food, unlike the manageress(?) when we were leaving. This person (not dressed in staff uniform and obviously in charge) asked us if we had enjoyed our stay. We replied the wedding at another venue... More

I am pleased to hear that the manager listened to your issues and sorted your bill for you. I have booked our staff onto the "dealing with challenging customers" course. We wish you well for the future. More

The staff were friendly and polite. Appreciate it is a 3 star hotel and does not have all the frills, however, do expect the rooms to be clean. Two rooms were booked and both were not clean. One room the carpet was full of stains and the other room the carpet had not been cleaned, you could see layers of... More

Nice and clean with good food and friendly staff. We stayed here for the first time on our way to Scotland and will certainly use again. Very reasonably priced and easy to book online. The bar served all the usual pub food to a high standard and the breakfast was excellent.
