The Inn at Whitewell is a charming, rambling coaching inn that is run in a relaxed and informal, but very professional, manner. The setting is superb - the inn is "hidden away" (you'll need good maps or sat nav) in a most attractive valley, giving beautiful views from the bedrooms and the restaurant. There is good access to walking locally,... more

Arrived at 2.30pm having travelled from Wirral, Merseyside. Tired and hungry having been diverted due to road works. Enquired about food at bar, "stopped serving" responded the bartender. I asked about possibility of a sandwich? curt "no "was response. No apology just "we have stopped serving " We were disappointed as we had travelled quite a way to vstit the... more

I live not fare from the inn, but its allways a treat, its great value for money, lovelly food, great wine and cask bitters. The bed rooms are stunning and the views are great ,you can not ask for more, and every time i go i really feel i am geting away from it all, just walking in i feel... more

We stayed here for our thirtyith aniversary, for three nights, after having just popped in a couple of times for lunch about twenty years ago. The atmosphere then was comfortable and the staff friendly and we always said we would stay there one day. Well we finally made it, to find that very little had changed. The hotel was efficiently... more

This is a lovely hotel; the food was excellent, the atmosphere was warm, the beer went down well, the rooms were extremley comfortable with huge beds. We and our dog were made very welcome by the friendly staff in this wonderful, picturesque location. more

This is a fantastic old english inn. With real peat fires in the rooms and wonky floors you really feel like you are getting a cosy taste of history, but with a splash of the important up-to-date LCD tvs and sound systems. We saw other rooms and liked the fact that you can pay for an amazing modern suite or... more

We took the effort of driving there on a recommendation. The views and countryside were idyllic. Sadly we found the place very busy on a saturday afternoon. The staff were either owerwhelmed or just unpleasent, I suspect the former. Our food was very delayed and it took more than 40 mins between courses much to our childrens frustration. On asking... more

The inn at whitewell is a hidden gem in the forest of bowland. Our room, No 3 is fantastic, the views are breathtaking. The food is amazing and the hotel staff are attentive but unobtrusive. We will definately visit again. more

Booked months before to ensure we got Room 6 suite with separate bedroom, lounge, and bathroom overlooking the river and fields beyond. This was a 1 night break for me and my partner, to escape the stresses of work. Lovely quiet county location, peat fire in the bedroom, really good evening meal and breakfast. Open log fires in the bar... more

The Inn at Whitewell is in the back of beyond, so a satnav is an useful piece of kit, but its more than worth the trip. The setting is idyllic - its a warm shelter from a hectic world. Straight through the front door you walk into a room with an open fire, which leads onto a bar with a... more
