Having lived in Clitheroe, I know the place quite well. But this was my first stay. It's privately run and is superb.... the meals are wholesome and great value and the breakfast is the best I've ever had (proper local ingredients). The wifi is free and perfect plus my room is very clean and comfortable. Even with nice little touches... More

Having stayed recently in a number of budget hotel chains this independent traditional hotel was a refreshing change.Check in was functional rather than welcoming and our room was on the top floor. No assistance with baggage was offered. The manager was pleasant although he did not introduce himself but did accommodate my daughter at short notice. There is a small free car park... Our group of Derby-based walkers on a bi-annual weekend away, and our first visit to Clitheroe, fully occupied this hotel with 20 persons in a mix of double, twin, three bed and single occupancy rooms. We found the rooms, meals and hospitality spot on. Rear of premises parking avoided car park charges, and the location is off town centre, so in a... More

When we arrived at the hotel after full days work we were greeted by what appeared to be the odd job man, trackie bottoms trainers and baggy t shirt. His welcolm was sorry no evening meals I'll give you some money you can get food up the town and the front door is locked at ten.if you want a decent... More

I have just returned from a few nights business stay at the Old Post House. This hotel offered excellent value for money. The rooms are a good size and quite modern (furniture could do with a little updating), excellent breakfast (cereal, full english, fresh fruit, variety of juices etc), great location just opposite the station and the owner could not... We had two rooms for one night to enable us to attend a wedding reception locally. The rooms were very clean and comfortable - if rather cold that night, but that was probably due to my not sorting out the thermostat - and the staff helpful. A good night's sleep was followed by an excellent breakfast. A lovely selection of... More

Stayed for one night. Hotel and staff excellent. Our room was very clean, well furnished with lovely large bathroom. We were able to check in ahead of time which was very useful. Good free ttown centre parking. Hotel and room was warm and cosy. Breakfast was excellent with superb choice. Only drawback was the shower which was difficult and ineffective.... More

We chose this hotel to get away from our busy lives in Manchester and it's located in the heart of the Clitheroe town centre with it's quaint shops and open fronted restaurants. From walking through the door until we left our hosts couldn't do enough for the Mrs. and myself. The owners had great local knowledge of places for my... More

We booked one of the family rooms, which was actually very nice. The staff, when we eventually managed to find someone, was very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was very good and there was something to please everyone. However, the main reason for paying for a hotel room is to have somewhere to sleep...and sleep we did not. When there wasn't loud... More

we have just returned form a weekend break, and i can honestly say, we will be returning. On arrival we were greeted by the manager (Ron) who was very welcoming, showed us to our room, and even carried our bags for us (a service we didn't even receive in a recent visit to a 5* hotel) we visited the bar/lounge...
