We attended a wedding at the Abbey in July. Stunning location steeped in history. Both the Abbey and the local church are charming. The staff at the abbey could not do enough, we stayed overnight with our 8month old baby and the staff ensured out stay was comfortable and hassle free. The rooms are basic but comfortable and spacious. Highly... More

A group of us from a Wildlife Trust spent 4 nights based at Whalley Abbey. Everyone in the Abbey contributed to making our stay such a good and memorable one. Without exception, members of the group commented on the wonderful place that Whalley Abbey is and the special atmosphere both in and around it. Both the food and the accommodation... More

An amazing place to stay and absorb the atmosphere. Set in the grounds of a medieval abbey, with remains still to be seen. Part of the abbey was rebuilt as a house - itself steeped in history and complete with its own park and river. Situated in the beautiful village of Whalley, with the countryside of the Ribble valley and... More

Taken there by our friends, we were not expecting such a lovely hidden gem. The receptionist was very helpful. we ate a picnic in the grounds and soaked in the atmosphere. The guide is very informative and allows you to have information on all of the ruins as you progress around the site. It has an evocative atmosphere.and one can... More

We were very pleasantly surprised when we first saw the Abbey; it looks very grand and is in a beautiful setting. This contrasts starkly with the room we were given, which was very small, cheaply furnished with very tired decor. I had to ask for a bedside lamp as there was only one in the room, and there was no... More
