We booked last minute on Friday 17th October and whilst the restaurant was full with a private function we ate in the Latham Suite, which was lovely. The whole place was very busy but we received perfect service, nothing was rushed nor were we waiting. The food was excellent, I had Monkfish Scampi and it was simply delicious.

Great night, good entertainment. I found it very funny that the act kept changing their outfit, we nick named the lead singer Mr Ben. The food was average, I didn't enjoy the pate but others in my party thought it was good. The service was faultless and the food was hot when served. Great party atmosphere and nicely decorated. Good... More

We had not visited here for sometime but decided to call in en route home after 3 days break in Cumbria. After studying the menu in the bar/lounge we selected sandwiches off the comprehensive lunch menu. The various sandwiches, served with salad and novel baskets of lovely chips, were delicious and for me a tasty pint of Tetley Extra Cold... More

I was here on business for a meeting. When we arrived the meeting room wasn't ready so we took tea in the conservatory. I have to say that this hotel is quaint and somewhat ornate in decor which might not suit some but I found quite quirky! I can really only comment on lunch which, although could have been a... More

Started visiting the Pines for sunday lunches back in the mid 1960's when Betty Duffin took over. After all these years the refurbished Howarths Restaurant in the Pines still offers beautifully cooked cuisine at reasonable prices in a classy atmosphere. Now we have grandchildren, they love it too! Keep it up Mrs Duffin. - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

We were upgraded to a luxury suite with a four-poster bed as our booking hadn't appeared on their system, which seemed rather fortunate. However the suite was blisteringly hot with no heating controls which made relaxing in it and sleeping difficult, even with all the windows open and ceiling fan on. The towel rail in the bathroom was too hot... More

Just spent a night here with my boyfriend enroute up north. We are a young couple and both were equally impressed with the hotel. It's charming and classy. The food was delicious, beautifully presented and served to us by a wonderful bubbly waitress. The bedroom was large and the bed delightful. Feather duvets and great sheets. The bath tub was... More

We stayed here for two nights for a family wedding. Every member of staff we had contact with were very helpful and kind. The room was lovely - four poster bed. It was very high off the ground which my husband found hilarious - at 5' 2" I had to jump to get in It was really comfortable, lovely bedding... More

Nice decorated spacious rooms with large king size comfortable bed. We attended our sons wedding there yesterday and stayed the night which included bed and breakfast. No complaints about anything. Nice laid out well tended gardens where we were served champagne before entering to have the wedding breakfast which again was very nice.

I had to book this hotel last minute as I was unable to remain in my house after having it painted. On arrival the lady behind the counter was very helpful she upgraded my room after hearing my story. the Breakfast was super and all the staff were excellent.
