The reception staff were very welcoming and helpful when we checked in. We have stayed here on many occasions but the hotel is always cold in the communal areas particularly near the main function room. Could do with being cosier on a cold winters day. The restaurant was the one area that used to be warm but they seem to... More

Cold, tired and gloomy is not a review of how I arrived, but how I found the Dunkenhalgh Hotel. Cold - the wing where my room was situated can't have been heated for days, and the room took over 6 hrs to warm to a suitable temperature (i.e. over 18 degrees). Tired - a like of paint a a few... Dear Bjorn C, I am disappointed to see your visit did not meet your expectations and apologise you had to endure a cold room on arrival. It is common practice for the heating to be on, prior to guest arrival, in the room especially at this time of the year. I will redress this issue with the Housekeeping team immediately.... More

I had booked this stay as a spa package which included full use of spa facilities, a 25 minute treatment, evening meal worth up to £22 pound each and any extras you want you pay the extra which suited my husband and I, a nights stay and breakfast. We arrived on Saturday and was able to check in at 1.30pm... More

Great value, lovely rooms in a fabulous building. Dinner was lovely and reasonably priced for a hotel. Great spa and a lovely team of staff who are very willing to help and responsive. Breakfast lovely too. Only a short distance to Boundary Mill too for great shopping.

I booked a spa package for four people which included spa 25 minute treatment 3 course evening meal over night stay and breakfast. The thermal rooms were way too overcrowded and the only one free was dirty and smelly. In the pool area there was towels and robes on each lounger however no one sat on them. There should be... This is a really lovely hotel, I felt completely at home here, it is a beautiful building and has a rather luxurious feel to. I'm often reluctant about hotel restaurants but this one has excellent good food and wine and excellent service. I would return here for sure. After seeing the communal areas I was however expecting something a little... More

Dear Louise H, Thank you for your kind words and I shall share with the team, we are delighted you, in general, enjoyed your stay. Sorry to see there were issues with the hairdryer in your room, the majority are hard-wired to the socket for safety and security reasons, we will look at each room and if the leads are... More

We spent an evening at this hotel having a family get together. The staff and rooms were all excellent. The venue itself is quite sprawling, but luggage trolleys are available. We had a large amount of people eating in the evening and were put in a private, slightly cold room with temporary tables that were a bit precarious. This is... More

Our group of 8 booked to stay over night for the New Years Eve Masquerade Ball. The rooms we were allocated were excellent with comfortable beds, The 5 course meal was good with excellent service from the waiters and waitresses. The bar staff managed to keep the glasses full as well. The entertainment consisted of a mediocre group and a... More

The hotel itself is situated in a nice isolated area so you don't have to worry about being woken by traffic or trains like some hotels. I've stayed here on business many times and the rooms are really hit and miss depending on what area you are given. The hotel itself is dated and there isn't much they can do... More
