We booked a room for a family funeral and the girls who arranged it were fantastic and showed a great deal of flexibility when planning however the owner left a lot to be desired. On the day she was rude, practically threw scones down on the plate and charged one guest who was absent in her room for a while,... More

The main house at this place is fabulous, the plasterwork is a joy to behold and the public rooms and bar etc are really really nice. All the staff were great and very helpful We stayed one night in a room in the "annex" they call the "coach house" and our room was fine, but with one or two niggles.... More

We spent 5 nights in this hotel for a family funeral but working trip as well. We must have got the smallest room in the hotel as if someone was sat at the dressing table, the other would have to roll over the bed to get to the bathroom or the door, it was very small with no room to... More

Stayed for one night on Saturday as needed somewhere local following a concert. The hotel was lovely, very warm and welcoming. Staff were nice and efficient. The room was large, had a comfortable bed and a lovely clean bathroom. Tea and coffee making facilities were good. Breakfast the next morning was great, very tasty and plenty of choice. Would certainly... More

This truly is a boutique hotel at its best. Interesting history behind the family who built the house. The dining room is lit with candle at each table in the evening, romantic. The food is home cooked, delicious and reasonably priced. It has a large, but homely lounge with adjoining bar. Staff are wonderfull and try to please. We intend... More

We have stayed here many times and it can't be beaten for a welcoming experience . Food is exceptional . Price including a superb breakfast is brilliant . Old world charm in most rooms and new updated ones for this year . If in the area , it's a must try , you won't be disappointed 😃

Stayed here on more than one occasion and this time went back with family. Just love the place and the staff are very helpful and friendly. Food was excellent and although we spent most of our days out and about the facilities and night services were just as good. Go on try it, you'll love it.

Super, quirky hotel in high Victorian style. The staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful. The food in the panelled dining room was faultless, specially the home made desserts,Sticky Toffee pudding scored 11 out of 10 with Syrup Sponge and custard not far behind. If you want sterile soulless surroundings this is not the place for you but... More

Having stayed here for about 5 weeks during the week whilst working in the area, I would definitely book here again if needing accommodation in the area. Service if friendly and relatively informal. The hotel is an old Victorian house - with some very nice original features, in particular the dining room ceiling. Furnishing is best described as eclectic, but... More

I love this hotel. It is like a country house, but unfortunately in the middle of a council estate. The rooms I have stayed in are a very good size with ensuite bathrooms. I have stayed here 3 times. There are some odd figures around the place, and this can be a little disconcerting. If you can overlook the slightly... More
