Only stayed for one night, but the hotel was lovely. The staff were very friendly, our room was clean, well decorated, with a tucked away window seat facing the sea. We were pleased with the location which was in a quiet area, just a short walk from the town. The included breakfast was delicious!

Short break over August bank holiday. Could not fault this hotel. From moment of arrival everything was superb - check-in, food/ service, room etc. Evening meals were particularly good. We had a first floor balcony room with great sea view. You can see the Maunsell Forts on the horizon. Would definitely return and recommend this to others.

We were visiting Whitstable for a friend's wedding and chose the Marine because of it's proximity to the church and reception venue and the fantastic sea front location. Despite the advertised 3pm check in, the hotel staff were very accommodating and we got the keys to our room just before 1pm (I would recommend calling the night before to request... More

We only stayed for one night..., wish it could've been at least two! I had a bad cold unfortunately so we were pretty much confined to our room. But what a room! What a view! Everything was beautifully presented and very clean. We thoroughly enjoyed room service - it was wonderful watching the sun set while enjoying our meal on... More

We spent three days here and cannot speak too highly of the staff, who are led from the front by their manager Kate. It was great to see a real team doing their best to make their guests welcome. A most welcoming and comfortable hotel.

I first reviewed The Marine Hotel soon after its renovation, enthusing then about the stylish, sophisticated appearance of the hotel and the quality of food and service. Since its re-opening I have returned many times, most often for snacks, or a bar meal coffee or drinks, but I have now experienced the elegance of the dining room, both in its... More

Although there is access for less physically able guests, and there is a lift, there are a lot of steps and stairs in this hotel. That said, it's an attractive, interesting building, clean and well-decorated throughout. It's well worth paying for a balcony room, as the sea views are fabulous. The hotel was easy to find, but parking can be... More

We have just retuned from staying at this excellent hotel. We stayed in the Superior Double Room with Balcony and Sea View. Decorated lovely and exceptionally clean. We had our 12 week old baby with us and the staff couldn't do enough for us, making our stay even more special for our first time away with him. The staff were... More

I got married here on 31/07/14. It was fantastic. I had cancelled my previous venue (very close by ) due to lack of leadership and poor management . Only the smaller room was available for the meal but this was large enough. So I booked it. Kate , the manageress was extremely helpful, organised , polite and accommodating. We had... More
