Having just booked into the hotel we are rather shocked to find that their idea of "standard" would be anyone else's idea of rundown or substandard. Upon enquiring about the standard we were directed to the booking confirmation email which does indeed state that the room "may be in an area undergoing refurbishment." Neither my wife nor I recall booking... More

Good location, within a 15 minute walk of harbour, restaurants and shops. Although not getting a refurbished room, which all rooms seem to be in the process of, it was still very nicely furnished and had a lovely seafront view. Characterful, Victorian building but modernised very tastefully. Excellent customer service at check in and in the bar. Excellent tea and... More

I was very impressed during our stay at the Continental. The place has been recently renovated and the rooms are decorated in a retro seaside style. Service is friendly and one of the rooms that we booked was upgraded to a sea view room which had a balcony facing the beach. This was a nice touch. Sleep quality was good... More

This is a great little boutique hotel in good location in Margate. Wonderful staff, so helpful and welcoming. They could not have been more helpful. Great sea view in Room No 4, if a bit 'bling'. Nice little garden at back for chill out in the evening. A lot of thought has gone in to design of hotel. This is... More

Stayed for 1 night at the Hotel Continental as we have been meaning to visit Whitstable for a long time (lovely place!) Check in was a bit manic as there were many guests, but guys from the bar soon came to help out. We had to park at their 2nd car park which is only a few minutes walk up... More

This is an absolute plus in Whitstable- a great find. We booked very last minute but were so pleased with the hotel. It is brightly decorated and has really pleasant staff. We managed to park in their overspill car park which is only 3 minutes walk from the hotel. We could have parked in the grounds but it was full.... More

This hotel faile dto deliver in any area. The check in desk is is in a corridor next to the lavatories, the lack of ventilation felt like you were checking in standing at the urinal, atrocious and I don't know how the staff can work in such conditions. We were apparently upgraded because it was our wedding anniversary. The room... More

We stayed here for 2 nights in Hut 5 of the Fishermens' Huts in the heart of Whitstable, on the beach by the quay. The huts are owned and managed by the Hotel Continental, which is a leisurely 10 minute walk along the shore across the quay. Staying in the hut, breakfast is included at the hotel. We found this... Lovely room with a sea view. Comfiest bed I've slept in, in a hotel. Nice breakfast except the tea and coffee which were too weak, and weak shower - needs a power shower. Friendly staff both in hotel and restaurant. Recommended for a stay in Whistable.
