Not to be mixed up with the Hotel Continental in Cannes! I visited the Hotel Continental's restaurant for dinner on 27/7/14 and was informed I had to walk back through from the restaurant to the bar to make my food order because that's where the menu was? Quite bizarre! Waited for about 10 minutes while all the people that were... More

Stayed here for one night with my boyfriend, overall nice time, but encountered a few problems. Whilst impressed with the general style and size of the room, we had one of the older rooms yet to be refurbished. This wasn't a problem as it was still nicely decorated however, the room next door to us was being refurbished and so had... More

Stayed here one night for the Oyster Festival and found its location, 10 minutes walk along the front to the High Street, great as it was quieter and better for us with our toddler. The hotel is undergoing some refurbishment - we were in an older style room (rm 24) but still thought it was ok, but would like to... More

Good bar and dining area with veranda seats facing the sea. Spacious and airy. Friendly staff. Food looked good at every table. Lovely to sip a beer and watch the sun go down. Try the Whitstable Stout, or the gravity IPA. The raspberry wheat beer might suit some, just not me...

Arrived and decided to take lunch!!! Prawn baguette!!! Not to hard to get right!!!! Baguettes thick with butter!! Not bad prawns. Asked for mayonnaise it came in a reused honey pot!!! Omg spooned it out on my salad French dressing which I hate!!! Didn't eat there for evening meal. Breakfast!!!! What a joke, had to be seen to be believed,... More

hi glad you liked your room. We reuse our honey pots from breakfast as we like to try and recycle rather than use disposables. Most of our customers like our traditional breakfast and even thought many of our staff are young they are still capable. james More

We loved our room with a sea view and a nice touch with a pair of binoculors to use. Lovely decor & massive bed. All the staff were helpful and the breakfast was amazing, fresh & clean. We will return soon.

This is a hotel in transition. The new rooms are fantastic and the location is excellent. We found the staff indifferent to the number of issues we had. On check in we were told breakfast finished at 10. We stumbled down at 9.40 after being treated to some hammering (yes i know you are refurbishing) to be told the breakfast... More

hi Glad you enjoyed your room. I have made the breakfast served later now until 10am. The member of staff should of offered you some breakfast and you should of been informed of the correct times. This should not happen again. Thank you for coming james More

Went with a little trepidation, but we found this to be a first rate hotel. Our renovated room was attractive, the bathroom was spacious, design was good and the bed comfortable. The two outstanding things were the friendly, helpful staff who knew the area well (specially Judy) and the outstanding breakfast-- a buffet but renewed frequently and well seasoned, and... More

I had read mixed reviews about this hotel. We stayed for one night over a weekend. Our room was one of the refurbished ones with a sea view. The room was a good size, the decor neutral and clean in whites and greys. We had a king size bed which was really comfy with lovely white cotton bed sheets. Bathroom... More

Stayed here just the 1 night, room was large enough for that overnight stay not so sure about long term, bed was very big and comfortable too. Out for the night with friends and needed a very hearty breakfast to help the long journey ahead, and I was not disappointed, seemed like locally sourced ingredients very tasty, very happy stay,...
