We stayed mid April for 2 nights for my wife's birthday , although it is being renovated the hotel was clean, our room which had not been updated was clean and adequate, we had a bath with shower over. The staff were exceptionally help full and friendly. Lovely location great breakfast , Would go there again .

Once we had worked out how to get in to this hotel all was fine. Polite friendly staff and a small room but clean with a very large balcony and outside space looking over the sea. Parking is a problem in Whitstable but the hotel have a small car park of their own plus an overflow space nearby. The location... More

Hi Parking is becoming more of an issue in Whitstable but we have two car parks, and we are the only hotel so centrally located. Thanks for coming james More

Our first trip to this area. We had 5 good nights at this hotel. Our lovely sea view room on the second floor. Very compact nice room, big double bed (2 singles together) No wardrobe but adequate hanging place for some clothes. Nice bathroom shower over bath. Lovely breakfast cooked or cold on offer. We had one evening meal which... More

Me and the boyfriend stayed here for a weekend in February and we loved it. It was being refurbished when we were there and we got one of the older rooms which was very basic, but it faced the sea, which even on a grey February day was wonderful. The newly refurbished rooms look really lovely. The location is great,... More

We stayed here during the Easter break and overall had a pleasant experience. Our room was lovely, absolutely spotless and nice sea view. Staff were friendly and very polite. A few failings mean I have to say this is an average hotel though - Slightly random restrictions e.g. I asked for hot chocolate at breakfast and was told "we don't... More

Hi You should of been offered hot chocolate in the moorings I shall talk to the staff about this and make sure they know. We don't normally put the cot up as it takes up quite a lot of space in the room but if you ask at reception they will get someone to do it for you. The bread... More

if you stay here make sure you know what hotel continental think deluxe means when you reserve a deluxe sea view room at £145.the sea view is fantastic but the room is very basic - no bathroom just a shower room that is 6ft square, no wardrobe just a tiny cupboard that holds 2 coats so in the small bedroom... The Hotel Continental is a old building that is on the seafront in Whitstable and is undergoing a refurbishment- there is a small wardrobe to hang your clothes in all the deluxe rooms but if you want a separate room to store all your luggage then this is not the place for you. There is in most of the rooms... More

We came to Whitstable on a work trip and split our numbers between this and the Marina Hotel. The Continental is basic and feels more like a hostel at times. The rooms on the first floor seem newly decorated and are nice, however the ones further up need some love. My colleague and I stayed in number 24, and it... More

hi Please note we are undergoing a refurbishement and that is why all of the unrefurbished rooms are just £65 for two people inc. breakfast. If you want a nicer room please book one of our deluxe rooms with a seaview and balcony-obviously this will be somewhat more expensive. thanks for the positive comments on the staff james More

We have booked the family room while visiting the south of UK. The room is perfect for a family of 5 like ours. We would like recommending this place for the quality of the premises and above everything the perfect welcome of the people there. They are all doing the best for you to enjoy your stay and the breakfeast... More

Having arranged and 'pre-paid' in advance! for a 2 night stay we were aware that some rooms were not yet upgraded.....however we did not appreciate the condition of room 12 that we were allocated, eg cramped, noise of 'ablutions'! behind the headboard from next door loo!...having to fix a towel on the window to provide some privacy in the bathroom... Our booking policy is clear when you book and we make the description of the unrefurbished rooms very fair-they are in need of refurbishment but are clean and all en-suite this is reflected in the price £65 for the room B&B. There are many reviews on this site that say what good value they are. When you complained we upgraded... More
