We went down with friends for the Oyster Festival and it turned out to be an extremely hot weekend. The Hotel is perfectly placed for all the attractions of Whitstable and nearby Tankerton and is right on the sea front. The only thing missing is Airconditioning and it is not very friendly for the disabled (no lifts). Having said that... more

Had a 3 night weekend break here, on what has been the hottest weekend of the year so far. Excellent location for Whitstable town as only a few minutes walk along the flat promanade to the harbour and all the shops, restaurants and bars. Also Tankerton is only a short walk away, and Herne Bay is an easy bus ride.... more

We stayed in fishermans hut number 5. Whilst its farily charming accomdation, its overpriced for what it is, needs a facelift and a good clean. It was never a very good conversion to start with, but its really showing wear and is in desperate need for an update. For the price (175GBP per night) you would expect fairly decent finishing...... more

We stayed for a weekend in hut number 4. I really can't believe that £175 a night buys so little! The huts are very spartan and the conversion was very basic and lacking charm. There was no fridge, camp beds, poor quality bathroom, nowhere to sit, no chairs for outside (although other huts had some). It seemed there had been... more

Went here a couple of weeks ago for my birthday treat - staying in Fisherman's Hut number 8! Location speaks for itself - just a few steps away from the beach and was able to sit on the shingle in the evening sunshine with a glass of wine. The walk to the Hotel was easy - less than 10 minutes... more

My husband and I travel on a fairly regular basis to Whitstable. On the occasions we can’t stay with friends we have to book a hotel or B&B. we have had the misfortune of having to stay at the Hotel Continental twice now. It’s appalling the amount of money they charge for an extremely basic, dirty, tiny room and they... more

After many years of meaning to arrange a stay at one of Hotel Continenal's Fisherman's Huts, I actually got around to organising it as a birthday treat for my husband. Unfortunately we were disappointed at the standard of accomodation. The bathroom was poor with a sub-standard shower, dirty toilet (which we had to clean before we could use) and no... more

Having been loyal and consistant customers of the Hotel Continental over the past five years, we looked forward to a relaxing weekend away from London. The room we booked was, we were told 'the last one available' - room 2. We went to bed about 10.30pm, only to be kept awake for the next 5 hours by people thumping up... more

We stayed at the Continental on one of their midweek specials. We found the hotel so relaxing, rooms spotlessly clean and a most comfortable huge bed! One drawback was a lack of a wardrobe. The cafe/bar downstairs had a lovely atmosphere almost like being in France. Food excellent. Would definitely stay again more

We stayed at the Hotel Continental in Whitstable for the couple of days prior to new years eve. I have to say that I thought the hotel was excellent. Our room had the biggest bed we have ever slept in. The food was fantastic, my one criticism is a minor one, but the rooms need a coat of paint. more
