6 members of my family stayed here for a weekend. The Duke of Cumberland is a pub and the rooms are above the pub. All the rooms was clean, well appointed and comfortable. The cost was very reasonable as well. The pub is very centrally located in Whitstable. The breakfast was huge and very tasty. We would all stay here... More

I adored the central location of this place; it was ideally situated for striding around the promenade (and on one such occasion I was lucky enough to spot the screen legend, Michael Barrymore!). The breakfast was good too, with a sizeable portion and lots of choice. My main issue though was the bathroom. I had the most expensive double room... More

We've stayed, drank and eaten here many times. Wonderful food, wonderful atmosphere. They care about their music and they care about their produce, so many top notch local suppliers, the meat is all free range, the veg all local and seasonal. There's a clever kitchen at work here. The staff are warm, friendly and engaged, the building is handsome. If... More

It was a good sized room. In the middle of the carpet was the burnt impression of an iron. The bedside lamps were burnt around the top. Bare wires on the heated towel rail in the bathroom. The sash cords were missing on the windows so a block of wood was provided. But it was a good sized room.

I like unusual pubs and this one has character in spades from the lack of the usual big screen televisions to the furniture in what we found out was the eating area of the pub, the decor was also very interesting with picture hanging on the wall of famous singers from years gone by, we did not stay in the... I stayed just one night, but I liked it. The hotel is located just in the centre of the city, close to beach, shopping, restaurant areas and walking distance from Whitstable train station. Staff were polite and lovely, there is a bar just in the same building's ground floor. Obviously it is not a modern hotel as it has the... More

We stayed here for a night with a group of friends. The staff were friendly, the rooms were clean and the shower was good - what more can you ask for. The full English breakfast was delicious. The hotel is excellent value and has a great location for exploring Whitstable.

Loved it. Stayed for a couple of nights during the Oyster festival week. This place was recommended to us by friends who had stayed here before. It has a really chilled vibe going on. Laid back owner who was very entertaining and informative about Whitstable and the beautiful building that now houses this little gem of a venue. Rooms were... More

I stayed here for one night for a wedding in July. The room was very comfortable, nice bedding and linen. Tea and coffee provided with biscuits. But because it was a very hot night people were drinking quite late out in the garden, which was below my hotel room. So very noisy! I had the best cooked breakfast I have... More

We chose this pub/restaurant because of its central location and it didn't disappoint. We parked fairly close by and the coastal path, harbour and shops/restaurants were all within a short distance. The room was nicely decorated and the bed was the most comfortable we've slept in away from home for ages. The pillows too were really comfortable. Plenty of tea/coffee... More
