I wish I had consulted trip adviser before I booked this hotel. The room was more or less an under cupboard under the stairs and relates to nothing shown on their website. The furniture was old and unkempt. The TV never worked and despite reporting the matter was not rectified. The cold water tap dispensed hot water....as did the hot... more

Only one word comes to mind when I try to describe this place - shocking! If I were homeless and lived on the streets of London this is the kind of place I would expect the salvation army to put me up in at Christmas. The furniture in the rooms looks like it has been collected from charity shops and... more

I stayed here because there was no availability at the Premier Inn. The reception staff were polite but my room on the second floor was tatty. In fact it was faulty towers. The internal phone didn't work; the trouser press didn't work; the radio didn't work and the kettle would only work when plugged into a different socket. Due to... more

Website made this hotel look posh, however this couldn't have been further from the truth. Rooms were tatty, curtains torn, mattress was old and soft, tv remote was broken, decor was dirty and furniture was cheap. There was a fridge motor running every two minutes outside our window until late, also the staff would stand and talk under our window... more

It started when different staff members qouted different prices for a room, then being told no rooms available, family member who lives in Tonbridge attended personally and was then told rooms were available! One was booked for us as it seemed compeititve with its eventual price. 1st room i can only describe as being placed in the loft space! We... more

Location of this hotel is excellent situated right in the heart of the town. Reception staff wher very helpfull and friendly. I think some of the other reviewers should cosider that the floorboards will creak - the building is very old! My room was at the front of the building overlooking the high street. Dispite the fact it was a... more

dirty, dated, uncomfortable. We were a group of 6 guys on a golfing weekend, our expectations were low and the hotels actual standards came in lower. I should have taken a hint when I found it very difficult to book, the staff kept getting the rooms wrong and dates wrong, how difficult can it be, is it not their business... more

This hotel is dreadful, we were so disappointed. Our room (in 'The Garden Wing') was pokey and very dated. It was cramped and packed with tatty old furniture. The standard size double bed had a soft, uncomforable mattress. Wallpaper was coming off the walls and the paint was peeling. The carpet was old and stained. The net curtains were grey... more

I am sorry to say that this is the WORST hotel I think I have EVER stayed in. Granted it IS an old hotel but that does not excuse the problems we encountered. The room was VERY small, noisy (as the secondary glazing did not shut properly), the toilet seat wouldn't stay up on its own, one of the plugs... more

Me and my partner booked this hotel for two nights bed and breakfast last weekend and were really disappointed with it. We were given a pokey little attick room which was noisy and cramped. We went down for breakfast the next morning and were told that we were booked in as room only, so we left the restaraunt and opted... more
