We had been to this pub 10 years ago and was pleasantly surprised when we arrived today. Lovely open fire and friendly owners and staff. We ordered from a set menu with a choice of one,two or three courses. Value for money at £12. Couldn't believe our eyes with the price and the portions. Starters were very generous and the... More

Stayed one night.room at the back.large bathroom and comfy bed.bathroom was a bit cold. Only the towel heater seemed to be working. Made a bit chilly as it was below freezing overnight in the village.the bedroom was warm though.it is a very ancient building but the room decor was modern and fashionable. A full length mirror somewhere might be handy.WiFi... More

We stayed here for one night in early November. We had the premier room as this was the only one available. The room was at the back - so no road noise but we could hear the bathroom fans from adjoining rooms. The windows were grubby, required painting and were missing a catch so could not be fastened shut thus... More

Only £70 a night which seems to be a good price in this area. Our room was right above the pub but there was no noise after 11pm. The pub looked quite nice for a drink, it had an open fire. The bed was comfy but very wobbly. Breakfast was excellent and just the right size.

My husband and I stayed at the William Caxton Pub for the night as we was going to a wedding near by. We was really pleased when we arrived at the Pub, There was only parking in front of the pub for a few cars but one of them was reserved for us as we were staying there which was... More

From the moment we walked in the door we felt like we were old friends returning to our local pub ...... very friendly, warm and helpful welcome from Lucy. We only stayed for the one night to attend a wedding locally but the village is lovely and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend the William Caxton. We had a lovely meal... More

We stayed at the William Caxton for a nearby wedding and stayed for 3 nights. We had a very warm welcome from Alex upon arrival and were shown to our rooms which were lovely; very comfy with everything we could need. It is a very nice pub with quality beer and very friendly staff, the full English breakfast was great... More

The pub is on a crossroads, it has been probably since it was built all those centuries ago so there is going to be road noise. Otherwise this is an excellent place to stay, rooms, food, welcome all what you would want...................a proper pub as my wife said!

Booked all three letting rooms for Good Friday. The best and biggest is the rear room with large bathroom - though all are fine. The other two face the road so will experience some road noise. Good standard of accommodation with very comfy bed. All very clean and nice. The letting rooms have their own staircase and entrance at the... More

stayed at the william caxton whilst attending a classic car gathering in tenterden, the building is a very old character inn built in the 1540's oozing charm. the landlord and landlady aren't old characters but they certainly exude the same charm. the rooms were clean and comfortable with a few bits and bobs that were in need of perfecting but...
