Booked all three letting rooms for Good Friday. The best and biggest is the rear room with large bathroom - though all are fine. The other two face the road so will experience some road noise. Good standard of accommodation with very comfy bed. All very clean and nice. The letting rooms have their own staircase and entrance at the... More

stayed at the william caxton whilst attending a classic car gathering in tenterden, the building is a very old character inn built in the 1540's oozing charm. the landlord and landlady aren't old characters but they certainly exude the same charm. the rooms were clean and comfortable with a few bits and bobs that were in need of perfecting but... John and Lucy made you feel very welcome , the room was clean and very comfortable did worry the traffic may keep me awake but no it was very quiet through the night. I would suggest that there are glasses for water in the room but otherwise room was good. Breakfast was very big with lots of choice of jams... More

A good local pub without gimmicks or frills. The beer was kept well and the Master Brew was much better than in another local pub. I haven't given it a higher score because the bed and breakfast side needs a little attention. The room was small but spotless however there was no television just the holes and socket where one... on visiting Tenterden for the 1st time which is a lovely place, i decided to have lunch in the William Caxton and what a great choice it was. What a lovely pub so nice to walk into a pub and find it still a pub and not a modern bar trying to be a pub. The staff were very welcoming... More

We received a warm welcome from the new managers, John and Lucy, who had only been running the William Caxton for six weeks. Our room was small but very clean and comfortable with its own reserved parking place. Breakfasts were cooked to order and the portions were very generous. For dinner, a good selection of 'pub grub' was available and... More

We have never been to Tenterden before and had no idea what a popular place it is to visit during the summer - it is such a pretty village with beautiful surroundings too. The William Caxton, owned and run by Debbie is such a delight! We are so glad that this was one of the last rooms available when we... More

Had the most amazing stay at William Caxton!! The warm and friendly welcome, coupled with the tasteful decor, great beers and beautiful open fire are outstanding. We arrived 2 hours ahead of our check in time due to attending a wedding, and the landlady kindly allowed us to check in in advance, and our friend was also permitted to use... More

Stayed for three nights in a very comfortable room. It was spotless when we arrived & the bathroom was lovely - if small. The food was very good - both breakfast & evening meals. Debbie should be congratulated for her efforts. The minus is the road noise. We were in the front & it really was so very noisy -... More
