We have just had a two night break at this lovely hotel in the heart of Tenterden. We were offered a very warm welcome and stayed in a king room with crisp bed linen, an elegant country-style décor, a pristine bathroom and tea, coffee and biscuits in the room. A selection of leaflets advising of local things to see and... More

The weekend had been booked by friends who had stayed there before and rated the place highly. It seems it has gone more boutique. We stayed in Chapel Down room, which was at the top over facing the beer garden and road. The Friday night we had noise from customers but was not excessive , not enough to put us... More

We booked a king size room for our 20th wedding anniversary celebration. The room was lovely, the bed oh so comfortable, the bathroom well appointed and there was even freshly ground coffee, cafetiere and fresh milk available to make a drink. Food was wonderful. We had Sunday lunch and the family joined us for that. All were so complimentary about... More

One night booked last minute. Central location and on site parking a big plus together with universally friendly and efficient staff. Recently refurbished room was not enormous but very comfy with nice touches such as fresh milk, fresh coffee, biscuits etc. also a big wall mounted TV. Can see noise might be an issue if you sleep with the window... More

Stayed here for 2 nights to attend a wedding. Upon check in we had to wait a short while for the lady to finish serving in the bar area.. However, was greeted and shown to our beautiful room! Super king bed, tastefully decorated .. A hamper of Tea, freshly ground coffee and amazing freshly baked shortcake. Ate here twice, had... More

Hi MrsMUk, many thanks for taking the time to give your reveiw of your stay with us and I appreciate the feedback and the good and the poor. I will ask the chefs to re-visit the nut roast to make it better as a starter; I agree with you on the pizzas though - they are becoming legendary! With regard... More

Clean comfortable rooms above a nice pub/bar. Good restaurant, with varied menu. I had a pizza from their special oven and it was excellent, my husband was also pleased with his steak. The service let this property down. The check in and out was protracted, the lady working the bar also had to do the check ins. Also difficulty at... More

Hi, As I mentioned in my previous review response, when we get things wrong, we stand up and are counted. I am very sorry we got our staffing levels wrong at the time that you checked in, and that we put you in a slightly embarrassing situation after your payment the night before had not been processed correctly on our... I can honestly say I have never experienced such friendly polite service in a pub before. I was visiting Tenterden (from London) for the first time, staying with a friend. We were served by 5 people in total and all of them were really friendly, helpful and charming. Unfortunately my friend is moving away but I am determined to go... More

It's not often that reading a review makes us blush so much but we know we have done what we set out to acheive when we reads such lovely, genuine praise. We stand up and are counted when we are not as perfect as we try to be, but it is so much of a positive motivation when we hear... More

We stayed in the Bodiam room, a large, comfortable room over the entrance. Lots of space, sitting area, a comfortable bed and a fan was provided. On a warm weekend when we wanted to keep the windows it was quite noisy but otherwise this is a good room. There are plenty of rooms away from the front of the hotel.... More

Hi there, Thanks for your kind words about your stay with us. Bodiam is a truly lovely room I agree and we try our best to have customers keep the noise down outside! Next time, maybe ask for Biddenden or St Michaels which are to the rear of the hotel and we will see if they are available. Kind regards... More

Was back from Australia for a holiday and took my parents here for a break. From the moment we arrived until we left we enjoyed fantastic service, wonderful food and a great location. Will definitely be back. If you travel with people who struggle with stairs make sure you get a room on the first floor. We needed to change... More
