3 Nights in the hotel and I would think twice about returning without a few improvements. The hotel has recently been wonderfully refurbished, but they really need to sort out their staff. We stayed on the hottest days of the year so the back bedroom we had was very hot event with the fan provided. The breakfast was good but... More

Very nice and well located hotel, lovely external area of the restaurant and bar! It's just a shame about the service, they are not interested in offering a good service, lazy people on the bar, such a beautiful hotel deserves better employees

Right by the bridge in the town, and a well kept hotel with modern extensions to an old inn. Room was spacious, but a good number of stairs to climb in our case so ask if mobility is a problem. Good breakfast English-style, and a well-prepared and tasty dinner in the hotel restaurant which is spacious and pleasant, with a... More

Just spent 2 nights there. Very comfortable hotel, recently refurbished so the rooms are very good. Well trained, friendly and efficient staff. This applies to reception, restaurant, bars and housekeeping. Breakfast is as good as you will get anywhere. We had an evening meal included as part of our deal. It was a choice of 3 courses from the standard... More

Stayed for 2 nights from 12th June for a family wedding. Service and staff friendliness excellent and so obliging. We only had breakfast during our stay but the choice was amazing absolutely anything you wanted freshly cooked if you required a cooked breakfast and served on warm plates. The bedroom was extremely comfortable and the bathroom facilities again excellent. Extremely... More

As a local my partner and i regularly visit the Bell for breakfast or drinks of an evening. We have sampled many breakfasts in various establishments and can assuredly say The Bell is tops for breakfast and service, The food is of great quality - worth every penny. The staff are attentive and helpful especially the waiter Nick and Emma.... More

I was recently robbed during a family trip to The Bell Hotel. The hotel is clean and pleasant with a decent restaurant and friendly staff but the hotel's security is poor. During our two night stay a thief wondered from room to room gaining access to locked bedrooms during the afternoon. As we were out at the time we were... More

We are sorry that your stay at the Bell Hotel was marred by this incident. As a traditional hotel in a small historic town, this type of crime is extremely uncommon. We hope you feel we took it very seriously, by contacting police immediately and assisting them and you to track down the perpetrators of the crime More

We stayed here for 2 nights recently and were delighted with the hotel. Clean, tidy, good food, a really nice bar and somewhere thoroughly pleasant. This is an intersesting bulding with a staircase at either end. They have a 'Regency Room' which can be used for weddings, etc and we had a sneaky peek - it's lovely! Highly recommended!

A bit of a run of the mill welcome, dusty headboard, marks and fraying of decorative cushions, a bathroom door which closed on you just in time for you to smack your arm when turning to exit, a bit of a squashed bedroom, taps which turned the wrong way ..... could do better.

We recently stayed at the Bell Hotel for a family wedding. We stayed for three nights from Thursday to Sunday. The whole experience was absolutely fabulous - from the minute we walked into the hotel complete with wedding cake to be carefully stored to the minute we left on the Sunday following the wedding. The staff are the most helpful,... More
