Booked for one night as were seeing friends in nearby Dover. Booked the St Andrews Room and were very comfortable. However the TV had a blip and we were upgraded to the St Andrews Room. Both were fab and we met Dom who was just as you see him on the TV. All the staff were brilliant and there home... More

You will notice that other reviews are from both ends of the spectrum, some things are true but they all add to the majestic charm of this place. Yes things could be improved but that would detract from the completely different way which this place is run. Yesterday we meet Dom who was wonderfully charming, but even better than Dom... More

Booked this little gem as we were meeting friends down that way. Stayed in the St Georges Room in the GateHouse. Lovely room, great facilities and great to meet Dom and GiGi . Staff were lovely and we got to sit on the goggle box sofa. Lovely time all in all, great gardens and coffee shop as well.

My husband booked this back in December as a surprise stop over after being abroad. I was really excited but, the excitement soon turned to disappointment when we walked through the main doors. I appreciate they were getting ready for a charity function the next day, however there was nobody to greet us. Once shown to our room the disappointment... More

The setting and the wonderful warm reception from the while team at The Salutation made our stay exceptional. Beautiful rooms, glorious gardens and lovely people added that little bit extra to our anniversary break.

Just returned from a two day stay at "The Salutation". A present from me to my wife. From the moment we arrived (Tigger, Emma and all the Reception Team - Fab) to our departure we were treated to an amazing "World Class Experience." - We stayed in "The Coach House" - just across the way from the main house - Fantastic... As regular travellers, this has to be regarded as one of the best stays we have ever had. It's only a short walk from the train station so very convenient. Building and gardens were absolutely stunning and many an hour was spent enjoying the peace and serenity until dusk. The fantastic staff were always on hand to deal with any... More

My husband and I stayed for two nights in the most expensive room in the house. What an utter disappointment. We initially had to check the booking as we received no confirmation only to be told after several unanswered calls that "tigger" (who we believe is the manager and business partner of the owner) hated people from where we came... Stayed here Sunday/Monday 28th/29th June . Booked a few months back as hubby's 50th Birthday surprise and he certainly wasn't disappointed . We had William room , large bedroom in main house overlooking the gardens , couldn't fault it , large bathroom with nice big shower and double ended bath . It was expensive at £325 for each night ,... More

Went with high expectations and was quite disappointed, particularly given the cost of my stay. The whole place is very tired and in much need of re decorating. We stayed in St David's - a couple of lights not working in the bathroom, broken toilet seat and torn curtain at the window. We dined in their restaurant and the food... More
