Having looked at the huge number of places to stay in the area, I am so happy that I chose The Dering Arms! From my earliest enquiry, the owners were so helpful with regards to a possible stay and getting to the attractions of the local area. When we arrived, we were blown away by the beauty of The Dering... More

A charming place to stay, with excellent food and wine in the restaurant, and a lovely bar to enjoy late into the evening. The perfect place for a quiet peaceful weekend away. Hotel has wifi for those needing to stay connected. Mobile signals are poor around the area, a blessing for someone like me needing some R&R. I would highly... More

Popped in for a quick drink before our walk. A warm welcome by the young lady behind the bar and a lovely atmosphere in this old inn as customers enjoyed their lunch. Decided to have the mussles and my partner had the crab newburg, a new dish on us which was delicious. We see the owner James has been there... More

Stayed here for 1 night in July as was meeting friends in the restaurant. The room we had was clean with the en-suite bathroom. The bed was comfortable and a quiet location. The breakfast was good too with locally made honey and homemade jams. There was just enough food for breakfast without over doing it. Would happily stay here again

My wife and I stayed a week at The Dering Arms whilst visiting our son and daughter-in-law who live in nearby Little Chart. James and Penny Buss are charming people who made us feel welcome. The food was really good and the accommodation, whilst rustic and simple was warm and comfortable. The rooms are not large, the ensuite bathroom facilities... More

We stayed here for one night on 8th November. We arrived about lunch time and didn't want a large meal as we were eating there in the evening. It was suggested that we might just like to have a starter from the main menu, and we are so pleased we did. The sardines in Rosemary butter were delicious. The staff... More

Wonderful combination of pub and 'small country house hotel ' in Englands most haunted village (or so the web tells us). The building itself is fascinating, we stayed in the suite, cosy and tastefully furnished, after having sampled some of the excellent food that the Dering is justifiably renowned for. The owners clearly know their job and service and attention... More

My husband and I booked a one night stay to celebrate his Birthday on 14 September. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and would certainly recommend the hotel. The bar staff were friendly and the bar area was cosy and inviting. We had no problem waiting in there for our friends to arrive! Our room was tastefully furnished and decorated with... More

My wife and I had two very enjoyable nights at The Dering Arms.Making allowances for the fact that it is a very old building with all it's quirks they have done a good job of squeezing a small en-suite into the bedrooms. The plumbing is a bit eccentric with a noisy macerater and the shower power is very poor but this...
