Spent two nights here in August 2014. Staff and locals very friendly. Rooms adequate and clean. A little way out of town but a nice walk along the coast. Had problems finding restaurants in margate itself and staff were only too happy to suggest places to eat. It wasnt at all noisy the weekend we stayed however, the rooms are... More

We booked a night here as we were going to a wedding. Should have checked that there was a lift as my husband has mobility propels. Room okay however the ensuite hadn't been cleaned, toilet handnt been flushed and hairs in the bath. Once pointed out it was cleaned. Proprietors friendly. Bed very comfortable. Breakfast was very good.

Few are the days I meet the English coast and here is one day where I was glad I booked us in THE HUSSAR because we were given a warm welcome with great chat but not too much chat with our cracking fry-ups and furthermore you don't want to come here if you are going to bed before 11 owing... More

Easy to find, as on the main road. Arrived early, all doors locked but there is a phone no on the doors. Rang the no, immediately the doors were opened. We received a very warm welcome, although we were too early for checking into our rooms they offered to take our bags and was asked if we would like a... More

This hotel wasn`t what I was hoping for..We were shown into a room that someone else had used, ie. dirty pillow slips, scum in the bath and dirty socks on the floor, not what I was hoping for at all after 11 hours of travelling. Of course we were told there was a mix up and we were given another,... More

Stayed here in November for one night. The carpets on the landing & in the bedroom were grubby and not vacuumed very well at all. Bed was very uncomfortable, double glazing was atrocious and the breakfast greasy and unappetising. The only good thing was the location, £80 per night is completely overpriced for this place, wouldn't recommend it.

I normally stay in other hotel chains. This time I was let down. I booked last minute and did not know what to expect. However I wish I had found this guesthouse/hotel before. Very friendly and comfortable. The rooms are very high standard. I will stay here again the next time I am in Margate.

Clean friendly hotel located a short bus ride from the station and town centre. Rooms located above a pub so handy for drinks but can be noisy. Thin walls as could hear all that was going on in the bathroom next door!

Renny really looked after us for our 50th anniversary of turning professional in August 1964. Unfortunately, only three of the six band members could attend, but the hotel treated us magnificently. The food was good, the room two of us had was excellent (the other members and their friends stayed elsewhere) and all the staff polite and aware of what... More
