I stayed at this place because it was close to the similar establishment where I once lived - a sentimental journey. The location is good for the new Turner Centre in the much improved harbour area, 5 minutes downhill, 10 minutes back. A couple of beaches are also within walking distance. The Egyptian Copts running the Pavilion View are very... More

Pros: + very well located, got a room with "seaview" (and view on the "winter garden" entrance) + effort on the cooked breakfast (coffee was instant though), freshly made on arrival in the breakfast room + staff tried to be helpfull Neutral: ° no key for front door, so one had to knock often twice to get the staffs attention... Booked one night here for its close proximity to Winter Gardens (opposite). Front of hotel and reception/lounge look fine but as for my single room... think 1980s communist Bulgaria. A bed, a couple of drawers, a carpet, a tv that doesn't work, a mini-fridge switched off. A serious gap in the metal window frame. Wash basin with , at best,... More

Friendly family run hotel. Staff are full of character (in a good way). Basic accomodation, but when we did have a problem with hot water it was fixed very quickly. Breakfast was basic but always cooked and served with a smile.

For the price per night (57 GBP), the room was cramped and unclean - we bought anti bacterial wipes to clean all the surfaces before we were comfortable using them. The shared bathrooms and toilets were also filthy. The bath looked as though it had NEVER been cleaned. There was a broken window on the stairwell. The bedside lamp was... More

Broken window on the stairs and filthy carpets throughout the hotel greeted me. My room had particularly dirty carpet that you would not want to stand on barefoot. No bedside lamp, no TV, grubby bedspread and stained mattress. None of the facilities were clean. Photos of the hotel on the hotel's own website were obviously very outdated and didn't represent... We had an idea what to expect and I have to say, we weren't disappointed. On booking in, the friendly proprietor generously reduced the rate by a few pounds as he claimed the aerial on the roof was broken so our tv wasn't working. Strangely the big plasma screen in the lobby worked fine, as did the large screen in... More

This is what it is a bed and breakfast not a 5 star hotel. Yes it is a bit tired and dated but it is clean and the staff are very helpful. The price was very good compared with other bed and breakfast nearby. It is ideal if you are visiting the winter gardens. Only fault i could find was... More
