I'd never been to Margate before, Went for a lads weekend for a Wolves away friendly. I'd never ever go again unless you paid me then I still Wouldn't. Absolute dump. Stay away. Right, on to the hotel. Arrived roughly around 6pm for a 7:30pm kick off, ground miles away. Train station a good half hour walk away, up hill... More

We stayed at the Glenwood on 25th October having to go to Kent to see family. To say it was the worst stay anywhere would be an understatement. I’ve only just now been able to find the time to write this review – I meant to email the hotel but simply haven’t had the time! Room Not a bad size... More

We booked a weekend at this hotel after reading there write up on line. It is 2 star so that was what we expected it to reflect. The hotel appears to be being used to house temporary homeless people at present - this included lounge be used to consume take out lagers and pizzas, people in their pjs and a... More

My family & I have been staying at the Glenwood for the past 30 years. We have always been treated with friendship & helpfulness by the staff, especially BRIGID, Our rooms have always been clean & tidy & the Breakfasts are more than enough. In previous times the 4 course dinner was superb (plenty of it).The staff could not do... More

Me and my family got baack from holiday a couple of days ago. We stayed at the Glenwood hotel in which i noticed was awarded its 2 stars in 2005. We were greated by friendly and welcoming managment, gave us usual details and little bit of history on our way to the rooms. 7 victorian houses merged into 1 thats... More

We stayed at the Glenwood hotel as were visiting friends in Margate. Our room was newly decorated. The en-suite could do with the plumbing being sorted out, sink took ages to empty and shower head loose. but all very clean. Was fun finding our rooms through a maze of corridors. Breakfast was excellent.

We stayed here for two nights. The hotel is dated, the staff were friendly and helpful and no you don't get the efficiency you would from corporate trained staff, but be patient you get there in the end. The rooms were reached through an interesting maze of corridors but the room we had was clean, the bedding etc acceptable. I... More

We attended a wedding in Margate and for some reason cheap hotels were few and far so eventually I found this one. It was just off the main seafront which in good weather is brilliant and easy to find. The welcome was very nice and the room although a bit mismatched was comfy and clean. The bed and pillows were... More

Stayed at The Glenwood with a party of 25 lads. Staff excellent, rooms clean and far better value than other seaside towns, breakfast fine (especially the lady serving them-a great laugh). Bar opened for us even when we returned late-all in all a great deal to be had at The Glenwood. Margate itself is going through a small upheval and... More
