The Castle is in a nice setting with ample parking. The room was comfortable without being grand. Evening meal was fairly average pub grub but breakfast was good & individually prepared. What stood out was the friendliness of the staff. All in all good value for money & I'd certainly return when next in the area.

Booked this after going Alpaca trekking on Romney Marsh. Wasn't too far away and we'd found a lovely Thai restaurant (Thailand Toms) in Hythe. Booked the four-poster room (Windsor). Overall quite happy. Spent a sunny afternoon in the lovely beer garden at the front. Room was nicely presented, although was less than impressed with the array of assorted 'extras' on... More

Quick overnight prior to going through the Chunnel which it is within ten minutes of. Good points, really good pub with some great beers, breakfast freshly cooked to order with better quality ingredients than you would find at a chain. Less good, as everyone says is the decor, there are stains on the carpets and everything is frayed and worn... More

We stayed at the The Castle Hotel on Tuesday evening after a local wedding, the service was very good throughout, and was helped with a taxi when I needed to travel to the wedding venue. We stayed in the Windsor Room which was to the most part well decorated, a few minor flaws are broken legs on both an electric... More

The Castle is a bit special. It has its own village setting, charm and age and the staff are all superb including resident dog Rufus. If you have just arrived in England or are making a stopover before travelling to the Continent or are looking around East Kent, the Castle could well be for you. However, if you are expecting... Stayed for 1 night,Sunday 5th may. Arrived early so could see the girls working really hard at the change overs. All staff really helpful. Rooms a little tired but cleaned very well! Bar really nice as is outside area. Food really good and reasonably priced. Only downside for me was the noise of boiler? In our room, saltwood, would stay... More

We stayed here for two nights. Originally suppose to stay in March but my husband's Spitfire experience was postponed. We were past the grace period of free cancellation but David understood and allowed us rebook for April. Whew..crisis diverted! Location is wonderful to all the other little towns in the area and easy to walk around from the inn. We... More

I stayed 1 night with my eldest son and enjoyed the environment of the scenic and quite little village of Hythe, the delicious home made pies, the freshly cooked breakfast and last but not least, the friendly owners. Room (twin beds) was OK despite the noice of the ventilation of the kitchen. Bathroom needs little refurbishment.

After booking VERY last minute, we arrived very late at the hotel with our exhausted 5 yr old daughter. The room was very large with a four poster and put down bed for my daughter (which wasnt made up but due to our lateness, we managed and didnt want any fuss..)The room decor does need attention, but overall the beds...
