The shower was really poor, hardly a dribble. The 3 beds we ordered were in place, and the room was OK. The breakfast is not until 8am so if travelling to use euro tunnel not great. The food again was OK. We were a little late, 8pm so keys left in reception, then got dinner place still open. The staff... More

We arraived for an overnight stay at 9pm (ish). We were greeted appropriately by the receptionist and simply given the keys to our rooms (Not great customer focus or service delivery). However, we were tired from the journey so went to our rooms. It was then that I discovered that my cheapskate friend had booked me into the 'single' room... More

The vista that greets one is a bit run down – ornamental pool with no water, entrance door rather bashed by cases, all rather “OK …but…”, but the conservatory looked comfortable and the guest lounge ditto. Reception is hidden away at the back of the ground floor but was promptly attended and my wife and I trotted upstairs to Room... More

Please do not stay at this guest house, primarily because they do not deserve to be in business and have the benefit of your hard worked for money. This has to be one of the worst guest houses in England for customer service. The staff, are extremely rude, uncooperative, awkward, I could go on. I arrived to a grunt, left... More

Booked this for 11 July, our last night in England. Arrived mid afternoon, impression from the road was definitely "Fawlty Towers", there was no-one on reception and what looked like 2 surveyors advised us "the woman" had gone out for a while. Rang the bell, called out and eventually found another woman who was changing the bed linen upstairs. Checked... More

When arriving our room key was left under a piece of paper with our name on it. No one greeted us or checked to see if everything was OK. The room was large but the beds were so uncomfortable. They creaked with every single movement. Got woken up at 5am with young kids running around the room above us. Breakfast... More

Drove down from Manchester to this hotel to be told the room had been booked for another day and no other rooms were available. The excuse was that she couldn't understand us properly over the phone, surely when taking a booking over the phone you would make sure the correct information was taken down. We wanted the 3rd August, the... More

When arriving to the hotel on first impressions it appeared clean however the decor very tired .checking in reasonably easy but the service poor her English is very broken and nothing was explained to us. Our room was disappointing with wallpaper coming of the wall and again very old fashioned. The view from the room was off the street but... More

There are a lot of mixed reviews and I can see why as there are a lot of thing to comment on but overall it serves its purpose for an overnight stay. As you pull in to the place, the wonky sign and overgrown flower beds do not give a good impression and makes you slightly apprehensive before you enter... More
