We booked this hotel just for one night as we had an early start through the tunnel. The main public areas of the hotel have obviously been upgraded but the room we were in (on the 4th floor) was tired and old. It's a long walk up and the lift is abit of a coffin like experience so not for... More

Just back from the Mecure Hotel in Hythe, a very nice pleasant stay. Hotel was clearly sign posted which always helps, and there was plenty of free parking too. The hotel is large and impressive, the entrance and first floor are renovated, second upwards is not, but in the process of being done. We had a large sea view twin... More

Just returned today - travelled down for a family wedding near hotel - originally only for one night but hotel and staff were amazing so we booked a second night. Big thanks to the gentleman on reception who's worked this weekend I didn't get his name. me he helped us with the perfect room as we booked a seaview room... More

I stayed at the hotel as I was attending a family event in Hythe. It is a very impressive hotel with a wonderful setting. Was very lucky to be given one of the sea facing rooms and a large room in the hotel's main atrium. Superb view of the sea and beach and road outside. Shame the hotel could not... More

Recent reviews of this hotel would suggest that depending on whether your luck's in or not, you'll either love or loathe the grand old Imperial Hotel on the front at Hythe. There is sufficient evidence to suggest it's midway through a fairly major-looking revamp and update. If you can see through that, or somehow get an upgrade to a newly... More

This hotel is currently undergoing a total refurbishment and going by the quality of our room, it is money well spent. A sea facing mini suite, ours was very well appointed - complimentary wines and soft drinks in a fridge, security safe, massive king size bed, 54" flats screen TV with Freeview and air conditioning all add those touches that... This hotel is one of the hardest I have ever reviewed in that some thing are quite good whilst others are pretty bad. Some things remind me of Fawlty Towers as the staff argue with each other. Firstly the good. Breakfast was fine as was the view from the bedroom, in fact the bedroom was spacious and comfortable. How then... More

Fantastic hotel, it's clean the staff are amazing, friendly and helpful. Yeah ok the rooms are dated but you can see that they've started to decorating. If your looking for an all singing and dancing, modern room then don't stay until they've finished decorating. You can see what the rooms are like as there are pictures on here, the website... More

We booked for 4 nights at a budget price, but our room was very well appointed with good quality beds and bedlinen, a sea view (which we didn't expect at that price!), light-blocking curtains, a decent bathroom - small and not many surfaces to put stuff onto, but perfectly okay. The staff were friendly and helpful, and over the four... More

The hotel looks very impressive, unfortunately there was quite a bit of work going on so it felt a little like a building site. The staff were very good, especially Mark & Christina who were very knowledgeable about the area, the local sourced food and wine selection, which made our stay really great. The hotel is in a fantastic position... More
