I can't add a tip to help choose a good room as I can't imagine there is one, although the room was a good size and there was a bath as well as shower and the water was hot. I must admit to our bed being clean but we had to wait until 5.30 to get into the room as... More

As a couple we have had to have a long stay in a hotel, I am so pleased we chose this one. No, things aren't perfect but it's very pleasant, warm and friendly. Our room is large with a lovely big bath/shower room. I would rather stay somewhere like this, which has character and a bit of life, than a... More

The new young Indian owner was full of smiles and attentiveness from the moment I walked through the door. He showed me to a clean and well-appointed room. He and the other personnel made me feel part of the family during my four day stay. They introduced me to Mexican food, which was quite enjoyable, though it would never have... More

We decided to go shopping in the Outlet at Ashford, and chose this hotel on the 19th November 2014 - we arrived at 10.30pm and the kind hotelier accompanied me to my car and guided me into the hotel's free parking. He was very polite and courteous. The room was £32 ensuite, and was large, and we paid £10 for... More

just don't bother to stop here. Staff may be pleasant but the the place is grubby and run down, and that's being kind. I can't believe that it has just 'been done up'. Goodness knows what it was like before.

Staff were very attentive and polite and went way beyond the norm to be helpful. Food was delicious and served hot and on time for all 15 of us. Toilets modern and very clean. The bar staff were very helpful.

If you are visiting the pretty town of Hythe, and are looking for a hotel, try the YMCA and Salvation Army hostels. if these are full consider sleeping in your car. if you do decide to stay at the swan hotel, reconsider sleeping in your car again. overall it is a grubby hotel, with few facilities (no onsite breakfast!!) and... Not the WORST place I've ever stayed, but not far off! The bed was rock hard. The shower was only suitable for someone who was about 5ft tall. The plug hole was full of someone else's hair (yuk!). The toilet seat was broken. The breakfast we were charged for and which was advertised in the room as being served in... More
