Stayed here as a birthday treat for my partner so we stayed in the four poster room. The room breathed history yet the bathroom was modern and well equipped. Dinner in the restaurant was a little pricey however you pay for quality and this was of the highest standard. Staff were so friendly and helpful and couldnt do enough for... More

Have stayed a couple of times at the Star and Eagle and it always delivers good value. Book up in advance as it done times gets busy quite early in the summer months. Good beers (local ales) are always available and the food is to a good standard. I would go back again.

This is the second time we have stayed at this lovely hotel in picturesque Goudhurst. The Christmas lights in the village were gorgeous. We were going to a party in the evening and this was the perfect place to rest our heads after a fantastic time. We had the room with the half tester bed. It was the last room... More

My wife and two kids went here the other week and we found the the food was poor and way overpriced so we will not eat here again. The service was average at best and when we complained about the price of the food nothing was said or done.

We stayed 4 nights in this wonderful old hotel, Our room was o.k. but could have done with better lighting. Staff is excellent, but we wonder if you order Portugese sardines to share in the restaurant , is it normal to receive a plate with 3 sardines ?

We stayed here on the way to the coast. We had the room with the charming four poster. I loved it. The room was cosy and such a change from the big hotels. The bathroom was better than most with a good range of products to use. I liked them very much. Sorry - I used them all! We were... More

Ancient building, screaking corridor providing an indication of the buildings' history connected to smugglers, cozy room and a brilliant restaurant, breakfast brilliant, too. Beautiful gardens nearby, Scotney Castle and Gardens are amazing!

Stayed here for a couple of nights in what I'm guessing was one of the more expensive rooms. The bed was comfy, the shower was good, the TV worked and I have nothing bad to say about the room other than it was expensive. The food was even more expensive and they don't do sandwiches. The village is nice and... More

We stayed here in May for a romantic weekend. I thought it was worth paying a bit more for what I expected to be luxury accommodation. It was not. I travel a lot for work so am aware of prices and standards and unfortunately this was overpriced. The room was very dated and basic and the bed dipped in the... More
