I stayed at this hotel for one night (Sat 9 May). The hotel is homely, it is neither bad nor particularly good. The checking in process was a little strange as we were asked to pay for the room on arrival. I questioned this, and was told we could pay on checkout if we preferred. The room was upgraded to... Nice clean warm comfy room. Only wish the shower head was detachable.. Good breakfast, and bar food reasonable.. Shame also that Gillingham appears to be a run down ghetto of a place now, compared to when I was stationed here in the 70's. If I was coming back, I would certainly use The King Charles again..

Stayed for two nights to watch a football game at Gillingham's ground which is a 20 minute walk away. Check-in was fine, room was spot on....breakfast was pretty decent and was well supplied by the attentive staff. One qualm i do have is that on arrival we were allocated a room on the second floor and after taking the lift we... More

Usually we love staying here, but last night it was dreadful. As you can see from the pictures I've put up the room was absolutely filthy! We had the sign on the door 'do not disturb' but still the room service lady woke us up about 10am! They had builders doing work on the hotel up on the roof at... More

We traveled from Lancashire to visit our Son and his family, and chose this hotel as he is stationed at the barracks next door. On arrival, the hotel looks presentable, with ample parking space. Reception is efficient, and every member of staff we interacted with, seemed happy with their work and extremely pleasant. Another reason for choosing this hotel, is... More

I stayed at this hotel for its convenient location during a business trip. I was not expecting too much for such a low price but I was pleasantly surprised from the moment I arrived. The staff were, without exception, fantastic. The room was clean, dinner was plentiful and tasty, breakfast was great and the wifi reliable. It was such a... More

On arrival our group were met by really friendly staff at the reception of the Hotel. The waitresses and waiters were brilliant and our food arrived quickly bearing in mind the size of the venue and our party. The DJ was fun and very accommodating and played everything we requested. The band (80's band) were brilliant and really finished off what... More

Its a cheap hotel which is trying to make itself better, the staff friendly and helpful. The bed was large and comfortable, the room clean and tidy. The breakfast was good. Large free car park. The location near to plenty of tourist places to visit, the wifi is poor but they are getting fibre network installed soon, so that should... More

Our party of four (two small children) arrived at the hotel, around 11pm Thursday night, after a very long drive. We were staying for three nights. We were checked in very quickly and were in our room within 10 minutes. We had a family room, which had a second bedroom with bunkbeds, which we found very convenient. The room was... More
