Very interesting building old Kentish Oast house . A warm welcome and warm rooms on a very cold night. Welcoming breakfast room and host who was pleasant to chat too in the morning. Impressive disabled facilities; there was a disabled group in who were obviously having a great time!

My friend and I stayed here with a group for the weekend. We did have a lovely weekend because of the company and the way it was organised. However I wouldn't choose to stay at the Medway myself again. I should state that I do not often stay at youth hostels and the Medway really didn't persuade me that they... More

Good place to stay in Medway. It definitely lacks social rooms, as the only one available is taken by a TV, which kills any attempt at socialising. There were no games or books available, so there is a lack of a cosy atmosphere. The table tennis is a good idea, but please provide with working rackets ! The social room... More

We had the pleasure of staying in this beautiful youth hostel which is an old oast house. There were 13 people in our family who stayed and it was lovely that my children and all my nieces and nephews were able to share a room together in a safe secure environment. All the rooms were clean and tidy and the... More

We rented the hostel on exclusive hire for 2 nights in May. It was VERY clean and well kept, great location- across the road from Capstone Country Farm Park, self-catering kitchen available for use. Great value for money as well... Thank you Peter and Ian!

Just 3 om the outskirts of Gillingham but like being in other world, straight opposite the capstone country park. We booked purely as a means to an end as we were going to a wedding nearby. The hotels and guest houses nearby were either full or over priced. Rooms were clean, staff were really friendly and helpful. The price was fantastic... More

I stayed here for one night, as part of a walking tour. It should be stated at the outset that this is not the Ritz or the Savoy, but that is not the YHA's remit. I paid £15 for a night's accommodation, with a full cooked breakfast included! I was put in a room with two beds but the other... More

I used the Medway youth hostel for one night when i needed to be in Rochester for an early start. I arrived late in the evening (I think they were waiting to go home and waited for me!), was shown the facilities which were perfectly adequate and got the keys to my room. The new manager asked if i needed... More

Our only complaint would be that the drinks vending machine didn't work and it was a long way to a shop but we realise this is out of YHA Medway's hands. We had a great time. Stayed 3 nights and we had 2 rooms. Staff were brilliant, helpful, friendly, happy people. We had dinner one of the nights - great... More

We stayed here for 2 nights and planned to cook. The hostel was quite busy with families, thankfully most of them had gone for the catering option as the galley kitchen was only really appropriate for 3 people at the most, plus it was really hot, there was no extractor and no windows. The dining area was extensive and there... More
