After searching for accommodation, during school hols, my husband and I needed a room for 3 nights for a family funeral in Kent, I came upon this perfectly located pub to suit our needs. A huge range of traditional ales, fantastic locally sourced pub grub, Leon and Emma couldn't do enough for us. We had a lovely room and the... More

Arrived late in the evening looking for food and beer. The kitchen was closed but the landlord made me a fresh pizza, which was fantastic as well as very good value. There were 4 gents playing guitars in the back room (which apparently is a regular occurrence on a Sunday evening). I spent one evening in this pub and was... More

We visited to meet with friends. First delight: Old Dairy Red Top ale is a permanent feature. Second: A mixed group of musicians performing right in front of our table! Great fun, lovely staff, good beer and pizza, we'll definitely be going back.

We have stayed in this pub several times, this is the first time under the current new management and what a difference! The young couple running this pub are just brilliant. A comfortable bed for the night with a great atmosphere in the bar downstairs. Throw in a four poster bed in your room and what else could you ask... More

This is a wonderful traditional old pub. Traditional events with weekly meat raffle, old benches and real ales. Food was the same, traditional and very English. Ham salad and lots of thick sliced ham and traditional salad. Room was good, four poster bed comfortable, en suite carved into the small spaces of a quaint old English building. Everything works, comfortable... More

To access the rooms in this establishment you will need to be slim and an expert mountain climber as the stairs are narrow, winding and extremely steep to the point of being dangerous. very difficult to clamber up and down whilst carrying something. No-one offered to help! Strange creatures kept biting me in the bedroom. On going down to breakfast... More

I stayed here last week. Staff gave me a very warm welcome and couldn't have been more helpful. The room was full of character, in fact the whole place oozed charm. My room was spotlessly clean with everything that I could need including internet access which was essential at the time. A powerful shower loads of spotless thick fluffy towels,... More

Having been to the KGV for Sunday lunch and beer festivals on several ocassions it seemed the perfect way to end our wedding day staying here. It is a small but cosy pub with a strong feeling of community. The residential rooms are up a steep staircase in the bar and enjoy a separate lounge where we were able to... More
