We stayed at this hotel several years ago. When we knew we were returning to Faversham, we had no hesitation in booking it again as we'd had an excellent stay. However, this time we were very disappointed. At £80.00 per night, not including breakfast (and payable on arrival), we felt our room was overpriced, given its condition. The bathroom was... More

Dear Kay W Thank you for your recent review. Your complaint was fully justified. We were shocked to read it and couldn't believe it at first as cleanliness is of paramount importance to us all at The Railway. Immediate investigation proved your point. Further inspections revealed other problems with the same member of staff who has been dealt with appropriately.... More

Overall the hotel served its purpose. The staff are by far the best thing about this hotel, helpful and friendly. The food in the hotel restaurant is also very good value. The rooms are of a good size, however very noisy - for example you can hear every door open/slam shut, and even feel yourself moving when people move around... More

At £80 per night without breakfast the Railway represents poor value. While the rooms are cosy they badly need refurbishment, particularly the bathrooms. The shower just about delivered water that was warm enough to wash. There are better places to stay in Faversham that charge a similar price. The hotel is situated on a road junction, so take your ear... More

Although this establishment is showing some signs of it's age, the friendly, knowledgeable landlord and his staff more than compensate for any shortcomings in decor, fittings etc. Well kept ales and a good selection of food prepared using locally sourced produce with quirky but comfortable rooms and free on site parking complete the offer at this establishment. Good location for... More

We stayed as a couple for two nights as B& B. Regretably in our bedroom the pipework produced a continual annoying clicking sound when the heating was on which was even evident in the restaurant area. Our other main disappointment was the breakfast, where the tables were not laid, the choice was poor and the service even poorer. We have... More

My friend and I stayed in the Railway Hotel during our holidays break. We had a double room for our 3 day visit. It was clean, orderly and even certain smallest details were thought through which we found as a pleasant surprise. The food was nice and the staff were considerate and pleasant to deal with. We will come there... More

We found this hotel to be comfortable and convenient for visiting friends over the New Year period. The room was spacious with a comfortable bed, and with unexpected touches such as a CD player. The room was dual aspect onto two main roads, hence a bit noisy. Could be solved with double glazing. The bathroom could do with some modernising. The... More

I stayed here 1 night after a wedding. Hotel entrance way was lovely. All old Victorian. The room was great. Very comfortable and we had a 4 poster! Bathroom was cheap looking. Very close to the station and town. Perfect for what we needed. It's not the height of luxury but it doesn't claim to be. It's a good standard... More

Staying here at the Railway was a real treat. Located in the heart of the town near the station it makes for a great local hangout and hotel. Quaintly decorated rooms which are extremely clean provide great comfort and everything you'd need. The included breakfast is catered to your specific needs by the lovely, friendly staff. It was their attention... More

This hotel is basically rooms above a pub. My room (Room 4) was lovely, with a lot of nice touches you don't get in similar priced accommodation (e.g. dvd player, tissues, hot chocolate, biscuits etc). The downside is that it is located on the corner of two main roads, opposite the station, and doesn't have double glazing. If they could... More
