We have just spent a night at Reads in Faversham, Kent, UK it is a small restaurant with rooms. From the moment we arrived we were happy withour choice. The room was spacious and beautifully appointed. dinner was excellent and breakfast was included. The staff were exceptional For anyone wanting to visit Canterbury Cathedral a stay at Reads is a... This was an anniversary treat for an evening meal, bed and breakfast. Everything was quality, I couldn't fault it. The room (Cedar) was beautiful with a fireplace, settee, and a coffee table with a decanter of sherry. Each room has the use of 'the pantry' on the landing, an area for making tea, coffee or alcoholic drinks. The food is good... More

Four of us ate and stayed at Reads we had Willow and Chestnut rooms and were the only people staying in the hotel. There aren't tea making facilities in the rooms, that has already been mentioned her, but there is the pantry with tea, a coffee machine, soft drinks and a wealth of ever alcoholic drink I could think of.... Whilst being very close to home we decided to treat ourselves to DB&B. An old favourite of my other half we were not disppointed on our return visit. Although in need of a bit of TLC the house and grounds are very traditional with lots of space both inside and out. Our four poster room looked over the buildings to... More

We stayed on the DB&B package. The hotel is a traditional Georgian house with spacious rooms (we stayed in the four poster room). The room was fine but it was warm and, in keeping with the style, there is no air conditioning. Also although there was a TV there was no DVD player nor any coffee or tea making facilities... More

WE recentl y returned to Read's for a family celebration. Four adults, including one very disabled, and 3 children. The service was superb, right down to providing a suitable chair for my disabled son in law. The food was, as usual, memorable, I couldn't miss a course it was all too lovely. My grandsons needed to photo all the food,... More

We recently stayed at Reeds on a Saturday night and can only say good things. The building and setting is brimming with character and the friendly demeanour of the staff makes you feel at home right away. The evening meal was exemplary, with a fantastic menu and food that is cooked and presented beautifully. Service is discreet yet attentive and... More

What can I say - just look at the 5* reviews and they say it all. Had the taster menue with wine- excellent. We stayed in 'willow' large room and lovely bathroom - may need a bit of updating. Breakfast was another special treat. Please have a walk to the farmers market and shops so close by and a shame... More

We were dining at the restaurant and decided to book a room so that we could just stumble upstairs into bed. The room was very large and the bed very comfortable. However, the pice that we paid was really not reflected in the room or amenities at all. It was more like staying in a room at my grandmother's house... More

Foreword ... for this is not just Read's Restaurant ... it is Read's Restaurant WITH ROOMS. And what delightful rooms they are too. Ours was The Cedar - appropriately named in that it overlooks a magnificent, stately, Cedar of Lebanon tree. That in itself inspired me to order Chateau Mussar at dinner that night (see later). Arrival Even in the... More
