Location is convenient for the centre of Faversham - many good places to eat and drink within five or ten minutes walk. Our double room was clean, comfortable and beautifully furnished. Mary made us very welcome, cooked tasty breakfasts and helped us with advice about local attractions. We were born in Faversham but have lived elsewhere for many years and fancied... More

We spent a night in Faversham, Kent visiting familly and stayed at Gladstone House. We were met and made welcome by Mary who owns the B&B, shown the room which was nice with very comfortable beds, shower room, television, tea, coffee and biscuits. Next morning we had a very good full English breakfast. Chatting with Mary was a good laugh, she... More

During April-May I walked from London to Dover and Calais to Paris, staying in a wide variety of types of accommodation, ranging from youth hostels, through b&bs to 3/4 star hotels. In terms of warm welcome, comfort, cleanliness, location, value for money, breakfast, and atmosphere created by the owner, the courteous, kind and vibrant Mary Mackay, I would rate Gladstone... I stayed at the Gladstone House B&B for a week with some colleagues in June and I can honestly say it is one of the top B&Bs I have stayed in. From the moment we arrived late on a Monday evening we were made incredibly welcome by Mary and shown to our beautiful rooms. The beds were extremely comfortable and... More

We recently had the pleasure to stay at Mary's stylish house. Mary greeted us in a relaxed, friendly way and showed us to a lovely double room at the front of the house. We had such a sound sleep in the most comfy bed with exquisite bed linen as white as the driven snow. In the morning we got to... More

the whole experience felt so much like a home away from home that I took plates back to the kitchen without thinking. Breakfast was generous and varied, lots of toiletries in the shower, very comfortable room, interesting conversation and above all a friendly atmosphere. Mary even offered the use of her mobile phone as there was a problem with mine.... More

Very warm welcome, fabulous house and handy location. Mary was incredibly accommodating and flexible. Conversation was lively and the shared breakfast table is a great idea. No train noise despite proximity to station. Definitely recommended.

Mary is a fantastic hostess. She is really welcoming and accommodating. She made breakfast feel informal, interesting and entertaining, telling stories to her guests from the kitchen as we sat around a lovely old wooden table, chatting and enjoying her great food. My room was very comfortable and I slept well for two nights running, which is extremely unusual for... More

Stayed at this wonderful B&B during the Faversham Hop Festival. A nice big house, immaculately clean and a lovely comfortable room. The one thing that made our stay here really good was the singularly genial hospitality of Mary, the landlady of the establishment. A lovely Irish lady with a twinkle in her eye, Mary goes all out to make her... More
