Lovely Inn with large dining rooms and really nice bar. Room was typical unmodernised inn room: tiny shower, little water pressure in en suite but beds comfy enough. Useful place for overnight prior to channel crossing. Would use again Didn't try breakfast as 8.30 serving was too late for tunnel crossing.

This is an excellent spot to stop en route to France.Good value accommodation and food and helpful young staff which is more than can be said about the landlady Elaine who was disinterested in our welfare throughout concentrating on ensuring we paid our bill the nite before leaving after which not a word even at breakfast or before we left... Stayed a couple of nights in a family room with our grandchildren. Landlady and staff very welcoming. Reasonably quiet, breakfasts good, wifi worked. Close to the beach (about a 5 minute walk) and village centre. Convenient base for south Kent and East Sussex. Ate in the restaurant once - again good quality. A very old building, reasonably well modernised, but... More

I stayed here with my family on the bank holiday weekend as we were attending a wedding at the nearby port lympne safari park and mansion. The guy on reception was really helpful, very chatty and genuinely seemed interested in my family which is really nice to see as it seemed sincere as well. The room itself was fine, for... More

We booked the family room which had a double and twin beds. The beds were very clean and comfortable. The floors very very creaky and a bit crooked which made us laugh every time we walked around the room. Things would roll off the bedside cabinet which also made us laugh. The furniture was also on a bit of a... More

Was pleasantly surprised on arrival to be told that Late Rooms had quoted me the wrong price & my total bill would be £30 less for an ensuite double, nice touch as not all hotel staff would have been so honest. The room was clean & fairly basic but it was as expected. Beware if you are elderly or over... More

Didn't stay overnight just stopped on for dinner. Food was superb - home cooked to perfection: nice crisp (but not raw) veg, good sized portions and the steak & ale pie was delicious. Even the sometimes fussy children cleared their plates in spite of the generous size! Friendly landlord & well kept real ale along with pool table to keep... More

Stayed here for business. Like traditional inns and had one of the attic rooms. Twisty stairs and beams, etc all present and correct. Furnishings nothing special but all I needed was a comfy bed Good freshly cooked breakfast. Oh and very cheap too, bed an breakfast for less than I would normally pay for dinner when working away. Looks like... More

Convenient to the coast which is just a short walk away the Ship Inn is comfortable but with minimum services. There is no elevator and the stairs can be hard to navigate if you have large luggage. Other than this it was good value for money.

Arrived here to be greeted by "you must be" and my husband's name!! No welcome at all. Were told that we were too late for food -we knew that anyway and we had informed them of our late arrival well in advance. No info given and not even a smile. Taken to the room which was basic. I have never... More
