Stayed on the Friday night of a Bank Holiday weekend, £85 - everywhere else was booked. Jokingly concerned when I read the previous reviews - this is a traditional pub, bar staff warm and friendly - it is very clean, tidy and decent was room 2 I stayed in. Naturally B&B rooms over a pub are not going to have... More

Went out for a drink with friends, The pub had a great band playing and the atmosphere was amazing. This was until the band had finished and what I assume was the Landlady got very aggressive and refused to pay the band, her language wasnt just blue it was almost black and at one point she even threw a chair... After an excellent night watching an amazing band at the Port Arms, I can honestly say I have never been more appalled at the behaviour of a grown woman. The landlady, after refusing to pay the band, decided to throw a chair at the lead singer which very nearly hit me in the face. She was very aggressive and rude... More

The Landlady is a tries to take advantage of musicians. Tries to get you to play longer than agreed and then refuses to pay up. Never been so insulted in my life... We had a chair thrown at us at one point. Unless you like being insulted, under payed and threatened, I would give this one a miss.

Witnessed the land lady verbally abused people in the pub, this came to a head when she decided to throw a chair at one of the band members, this was over her refusing to pay a band there arranged fee. I have never seen anything like it. The police had to be called it was awful. I... More

She refused to pay them even though the whole bar were chanting "pay the band" they had all just witnessed the show and the after show the landlady was putting on! I use... More

On arrival we had a friendly greeting from the staff on duty, we were shown to our room, which is above the bar. The very loud thudding music was turned off at 11.30pm, and the very noisy customers left. The mattress was very uncomfortable, with the springs sticking into us, the pillows were lumpy, we got about 2hrs sleep. The... More

We originally booked a 2 night stay at the Port Arms but soon decided after our first night we would like to stay another extra day, which they were able to do. Fantastic room with a view that did not disappoint. Never had a problem with noise other than the passing traffic. Cleaned everyday and replacement of toiletries and refreshments... More

£80 for a double room with a sea view and more complimentary toiletries than your average hotel chain... Breakfast was very good and plenty of it.. full english, fresh fruit, cereals, yoghurts and a huge pot of tea.. Yes you can hear noise from below and neighbours so take ear plugs. We will be back for sure. thank you.

We always pop in here when we visit deal for a drink nice friendly bar staff. But on this occasion we stayed in one of their rooms, never again! Walls are so paper thin you feel like you have to creep about and when you make too much noise you are told you will be asked to leave, bearing in... More
