3 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

Our room was really interesting, lots of beams and uneven surfaces. The bathroom was as big as most hotel rooms. Unfortunately the room was situated above the outside area for the bar, and was noisy until late when the bar emptied. The restaurant food was big on quantity but of indifferent quality. I had baked Camembert to start with -... More

Very lovely village so decided to stay at The George luckily had a lovely room available. Had evening meal it was fab! The food is beautifully presented and tasted amazing. All the staff in restaurant (Angela was great) and bar were very helpful could not fault a thing. Breakfast was equally good set us up for the day. Would definitely... More

We had venison sausages, mash, parsnips and juniper jus x2 and a couple of drinks one lunchtime and it was lovely; it came to £26 which we thought was excellent value for money and we had a leisurely walk round the village which is full of character - an ace day out whilst passing through. They have an interesting room... More

Convenient hotel in village centre. Lovely rooms well kept and clean. Staffing varied excellent check in and late night bar staff. Breakfast staff although very polite were not that attentive and had to request additional hot drinks, milk etc and also move empty crockery as everything was just left on the table. That said the overall experience was a good... More

Stayed nearby on a self-catering holiday and tried their Sunday lunch. We were suitably impressed and ate again once in the restaurant for dinner and once in the bar at lunchtime, all of which we enjoyed. Nice ambiance, friendly helpful staff. Would certainly return when next in the area. Cranbrook itself is attractive and worth exploring and is well-centred for... More

We didn´t like to camp at the International Mini Meeting in Maidstone as we are a bit older and like some comfort. So we booked three nights at the George Hotel. A lot of History are in the building and we had a really nice and comfy room with up to date facilities. Our Mini had a safe home at... More

I would like how fantastic the George was last weekend for our wedding reception . The food and staff were fantastic and nothing was a problem . Every detail was exactly as we asked. The next morning our breakfast table was decorated . I cannot praise the staff and hotel enough .

We had such a good stay at The George. We had been camping for a few days and were looking for some luxury at the end of sleeping in the car. Cranbrook is a nice town/village in the Weald of Kent with its church described as the cathedral of the weald. Anyway, we got to stay in the Crimson Room... More

My partner and I were looking forward to a weekend away in the Kent countryside and had been recommended to stay at the George at Cranbrook. We can honestly say that it's the worst hotel we've ever stayed in both in the UK and abroad. We arrived in the afternoon and managed to squeeze the car into what is a... More

Cranbrook is a wonderful old small market town, and from the outside this old historic hotel is perfect and the answer to a night's stay in the middle of the town. But it is spoilt by the pub customers, who are a mixture of noisy young or scruffy older. Not the place to take the family or business to stay... More
