We love the British tradition of B&Bs and Sean & Corinna's hospitality was a first class example of that tradition. Lovely and comfortable accommodation; great views; excellent food and, what was for us a highlight, was stimulating conversation. A great experience.

Bed and breakfast is a good British tradition a very comfortable one when it's at its best - which we try to be. Thank you for your kind comments. One of the things we like most is conversations with engaging guests like you and we thoroughly enjoyed swapping ideas with you. We do remain aware that not everyone wants to... More

Having decided to eat at a local restaurant my wife and I decided rather than travel a long distance home afterwards we would book a room locally and after some research we decided on Godwin House and so began our exquisite experience and weekend stay with our hosts (Sean and Corinna.) From our email exchanges arranging our booking to our... More

Thank you so much for such a kind review. It's particularly good to have it from people who know about food. The grounds are just springing into their full beauty so you are welcome to come back and see that. I hope to have thought up some more marmalades by then. I've just made some with a single malt whiskey.... More

Although we didn't stay in the oldest oast-house in England, the self-contained garden cottage was superb. Ours was a 2 night stay to relax and chill out in the Kent countryside. We arrived early evening and were greeted with a gin & tonic...how civilised. Sean and Corinna were charming hosts and nothing was too much trouble. It was a chilly... More

We did enjoy the chats. Thank you. It's a good idea to get away in those nothing in particular days between Christmas and New Year. Yes, Corinna is the queen of the duvets. She always makes sure you stay warm in bed on your chill out break. You said you liked the look of the Oldest Oast House. It is... More

a beautiful stay with a superb breakfast - one of the best we have ever had at a B&B. We stayed in the Oast house - which was well heated and had a Medieval atmosphere! great hospitality indeed by Corinna & Sean. Remember to turn up quite early if you wish to have dinner in the area as restaurants shut... More

Thank you for the comments about breakfast. The only time most people in England have a full English breakfast is when they go away so we try to make it extra memorable. I think you tried all our eight or nine varieties of homemade marmalade from whiskey orange to sloe gin, lime and lemon. I'm glad you thought they were... More

Must confess our GPS had a bit of a problem finding Godwin House but once there my sister and I were charmed. It was right around the block from Sissinghurst Castle. Our hosts, Sean and Corinna, could not have been more helpful, making dinner reservations at several delightful pubs and Sean even ferried us back and forth and provided us... More

It was a merry time having you as our guests. Thank you very much. Sometimes it is a bit tricky for satnavs to find us because we're nice and rural but we're not so far off the beaten track and as you saw, there are loads of good things to see and do around here - starting with Sissinghurst Gardens.... We recently spent four nights staying in the Garden Cottage. After unpacking we were served coffee and cake in the garden A lovely way to start our holiday. The cottage was tastefully furnished, comfortable bed and a good selection of books and information of the area to browse. Sean & Corinna were wonderful hosts . Nothing was too much trouble... More

Thank you for remembering us when you got back form your varied trip. We were exceptionally lucky to be able to sit you in the garden but we have had such a good Indian summer right through the autumn. Can't promise that every November. We're glad you liked the books. There's a lot of poetry there for short reads and... More

Godwin House is close to my Daughter & Son-in law's farm where we were having family firework (Nov) get-together and we were the overflow. My wife & I plus family took both the cottage and the Oast House. As noted by others, everything is of the highest possible standard. There is astonishing attention to detail throughout and our hosts could... More

It was great to get caught up in the family fireworks get together. What larks! Thank you for the comments about the breakfast. Isn't it great to have a full English? We're all usually to busy to have one and it is in fact our best gift to world cuisine. Since the family is so close you know where to... More

We had the pleasure of staying in the Garden Cottage for three nights. After a long flight, getting a rental car, and navigating the M25, Godwin House was a 'god-send'. Sarah was so welcoming and, with some lovely refreshments in hand, got us settled into the cozy, but spacious cottage, which was immaculate. It was private, and very quiet, which... More

A beautiful place to stay for a weekend, real piece of history and restored to a high standard. Great welcome from C and S with tea and cake, lovely. Full of character, comfy bed. Breakfast superb with home made bread and marmalade. Nothing too much trouble for hosts, made us very welcome. Would happily stay again.

If you've come to relax we think you might as well start with a nice G&T. As you found it's really simple to nip out of London to here. It's just down the road but it might be a million miles away. We're glad you got what you came for which was to get away from things for a bit... More
