We had the pleasure of staying in the Garden Cottage for three nights. After a long flight, getting a rental car, and navigating the M25, Godwin House was a 'god-send'. Sarah was so welcoming and, with some lovely refreshments in hand, got us settled into the cozy, but spacious cottage, which was immaculate. It was private, and very quiet, which... More

A beautiful place to stay for a weekend, real piece of history and restored to a high standard. Great welcome from C and S with tea and cake, lovely. Full of character, comfy bed. Breakfast superb with home made bread and marmalade. Nothing too much trouble for hosts, made us very welcome. Would happily stay again.

We had a lovely stay at Godwin House. We were given a warm welcome with a G and T and were delighted to find a beautiful place to stay for a weekend break from London. The room and bathroom were spotless and very comfortable with everything you could want on hand - an array of hot drinks, nibbles and toiletries.... More

We had a couple of nights in the Oast House, and appreciated being accommodated in a real piece of history. Well done to Sean and Corrina for renovating it to a great standard without losing any of the character and charm. We also appreciated the little touches and attention to detail. Breakfast looking over the lovely garden was great, and... More

Spent a couple of nights in The Oast House, which was quirky and very comfortable. Sean and Corinna were very hospitable and nothing was too much trouble from booking dinner or suggesting places to visit to making sure the lights were on to welcome us back from dinner. It was lovely having breakfast in such a lovely setting and seeing... More

We really appreciate your taking the time to write those nice things about the Oast House at Godwin House. It's very pleasing when the little things into which we (particularly Corinna ) put a lot of thought, are noticed. We do think it is that small attention to detail which makes a stay memorable and more enjoyable for you. The... More

We have been at a marriage and we stayed at Sean and Corrina's. We had a wonderful time. Extremely nice hosts and a great place. We can highly recommend to anyone. Breakfast has been very good as well and they even helped out with a white shirt (because I forgot mine in Switzerland)! What more can you ask? :-)

It was a great fun to have the family to stay and Ajax the guinea pig enjoyed all the extra attention. We were glad the shirt more or less fitted - couldn't have you going to a wedding in a tee shirt! It was only a short stay but we hope it was long enough to persuade you to come... More

My colleague and I stopped off overnight at the Godwin House during a cross-Kent cycle ride (Maidstone to Dungeness) in August. Sean, our host, was kind and hospitable, offering us a G&T on arrival, which was much appreciated after a hard day. The accommodation in the 'Cottage' was charming. Breakfast, taken in the main house, was delicious and elegantly served.... More

I quite envied you your ride from the Weald to the Marsh through all the lovely Kent scenery. It's great for cycling - so much so that the Tour de France came right by the house a few years ago. I hope you roll by for another look another time but perhaps at a more leisurely pace. Thank you for... More

Extremely warm welcome with great choice of welcoming drink and delicious cake....the Gin & Tonic slipped down well after a long drive. The Oast House was clean and cosy and well equipped. If you had forgotten any toiletries, panic over, everything available even down to medication for those suffering from a headache after the M25! The owners could not be... More

We know what it's like to ride the M25 but we hope the gin and tonic was a better tonic than the paracetamol. Diets are no problem if we know in advance. Thank you for your recommendation of our "quirky" oast house. It is a place like no other and it's pleasing to see it appreciated. More

My husband and I stayed in the Garden Cottage for 4 nights July 28 through the 31st and hope to have another opportunity to do so in the future. I cannot say enough about the superb hospitality of the Holdens--Corinna and Sean (and their 4 lovely children). Corinna is cheerful and kind and very helpful with suggestions of things to... More

Sharon E thank you so much for your lovely words and we look forward to your coming back to meet the next generation of moorhens. There are many more walks and you did impress us as the only guests we've had who haven't got lost after hearing Corinna's directions! But there's much more than walking as you found so you... More

We (family, 3 persons) stayed in the Garden House and enjoyed a peaceful night, a really great breakfast and the Holdens, which turned out to be very, very caring, friendly and knowledgable hosts. Couldn't have been better.

We always enjoy having families to stay and thank you for the German lessons. It's very handy to be able to say fried egg, scrambled egg and poached egg. We have a lot of visitors from Germany. It's not just perfect for Sissinghurst though. There are many other good things to see and do. So wir hoffen dass wir Sie... More
