Having stayed at The Orchards as a couple my wife and I have just returned from 2 weeks with our young family, the site is immaculately clean, the staff friendly and helpful and the surrounding countryside is simply beautiful. From arrival to our last day we enjoyed our stay at this park. The facilties are second to none with lots of shower/hand basin "rooms", vanity area with plenty of sockets for hairdryers etc, large mirrors and spotlessly clean. This was our second holiday based at Orchards, and will not be our last! We stayed in one of the Discovery caravans, which are their newest ones (two years old). I cannot fault this place! We have just returned from our fifth visit in 5 years and we love the place, caravan's & the people! We are a family of four and stayed in the Russet which is a very comfortable caravan and always request the ones overlooking the playing field! We have stayed at the Orchards many times over the years but have detected a gradual demise over the last few years. The setting is lovely, quiet, peaceful and picturesque, with a 'years gone by' feel to it. We booked through the Sun offer, so got a van for £60 for 4 nights. It is a very nice, quiet, well equipped and well run site. We stayed at this site as part of the Sun newspaper £9.50 holiday offer in July 2005. Monday to Friday. We upgraded the caravan for £50 and my only bad word to say about the place was although we had been warned that the caravan had previously had pets in I didn't expect to see so many dog hairs around.... more
