We were very excited about our first short break in a yurt, it was disappointing. The yurt was not in a secluded grove it was right by the entrance to the hotel, our private deck was visible from the road and hotel. The dead geraniums in pots at the entrance, the blown glass in the doors the full dehumidifier and... More

It's a stunning position and potentially an excellent setup but sadly looking desperately unloved. We took a family room which was no better than a regional bed and breakfast with ten year old decor and crumbling paintwork. The thatched roof of the outhouses are in appalling condition, the pool area looks like it has been designed by the council and... More

We took my mother-in-law here for Sunday lunch as part of a 60th Birthday celebratory day out. The setting of the hotel and the restaurant is absolutely lovely (I can't comment on the rooms as we only stayed for lunch), even the menu on offer is very appealing, however what could be an outstanding place is made quite disappointing by... We were there for a wedding and, although we didn't actually stay at this hotel (and god, I wish we had!), I was there a lot over the weekend as I was providing the wedding cake for my friends. Excluding one person (who was a bit brusk to everyone, including the bride, so I really didn't feel singled out!), the... More

We were visiting the Island for the day with an Island friend who took us to the Priory Bay as she had been there several years ago and said it was a lovely place for a cream tea. We were seated on the terrace, the terrace is covered, which provided ample coverage even though the weather was inclement. The staff... More

Room was beautiful, views an grounds breath taking. Breakfast good selection would highly recommend going if you just want a nice quiet break away from everyone an everything. Beautiful beach just a short walk to from hotel.

Very disappointing stay. Restaurant food was very poor. We dined as a large party and obviously this was too taxing for the chef. Very few of us received the dish we ordered to the correct standard. 50% of the staff were incredibly helpful and accommodating, the remainder including management really couldn't give a damn about their guests. Such a shame.... More

Expectations were high and the reality was low. On arrival it took 20 minutes to get a menu for lunch after sitting outside and watching the wait staff go back and forth from the same table. Decided to give up on lunch in favour of a drink and another 20 minute wait at the bar followed by a rude response... More

We visited on a sunny Saturday 27th June during the round the island yacht race. Arrived for the champagne and afternoon tea advertised on the website as a treat for my girlfriends birthday, it was a very hot afternoon and we were hungry and thirsty! Reception pointed us in the direction of the terrace for us to find a table... More

This hotel is beautiful and set in stunning grounds overlooking its own private beach. The drawing room and lounge facilities were lovely. During my stay I enjoyed a drink in the lounge area, listening to delicate classical music and reading the paper. We stayed in a large rooftop room with a beachy yet sophisticated feel to it. We visited mid... More
