Having been at our table for an hour our starter arrived. However, no wine glasses, let alone wine, were present. We asked for our wine and were asked if we required our wine with our starter ???!!!! Really? In fairness to the chef the food was pretty good except for the duck. it was just the waiting staff.....dreadful! Oiks in a... More

The reviews of the last month are correct. We stayed 3 nights HB at priory Bay; Good points; fabulous location, friendly staff, hotel is faded or shabbily genteel, really friendly and helpful for families. Bad points; terrible service ( took 3 hrs to receive 2 courses for 3 people and we were the first people seated at 1830 as my... More

We went for afternoon tea here; the hotel is well past it's best and service not great considering their prices. Tea was fine (we've had much better elsewhere, e.g. Osborne House) but not served on nice cake stands, which you always feel it should be. We had to ask for macaroons and got some slightly grudgingly! There was no seating... More

Coming to Priory Bay Hotel you feel you are entering a very special location, our lunch visit didn't disappoint. Delicious, locally sourced food, Island crab, Kemphill farm lamb, fresh greens and herbs combined to produce a delicious meal. Deserts did not disappoint a sweet tooth with fabulous attention to detail. A delightful location the dining room looks out over green... More

We booked the Oyster Brasserie Restaurant at the Priory Bay as we wanted to enjoy some delicious food in great surroundings. The food was delicious, very well cooked, hot, and excellent presentation. However, the service let it down very badly. First impressions were very good. The gentleman at reception greeted us and showed us into the drawing room, and the... More

If you are obsessed with hotels that have all the mod cons, this isn't for you. It doesn't have a fancy pool or lift or aircon or gym. However, if you like great food, warm service, stunning location and self catering option for young families (plus dog) then this is perfect for you. We keep coming back. Love it. My... More

My partner and I have had two very memorable stays at Priory Bay and can only highly recommend on many accounts - on arrival the hotel is beautiful, quiet peaceful surroundings, on entering staff extremely warm and welcoming, both rooms stayed in have not disappointed! Large, airy, light, lovely comfy bed and decor very tastefully done. Our first visit was... More

This hotel is not cheap. We paid £370 for dinner bed and breakfast which for a 3 star hotel I thought was much too expensive. The location however was to die for and the building itself was very impressive. The cleanliness of the hotel left much to be desired. Very dirty windows and grubby carpets. The parquet flooring in the... More

We had a lovely overnight stay and dinner. The Priory is definitely not a luxurious hotel but it tries hard and has some very lovely decorated rooms in a lovely setting. However it appears it needs a lot of money spent on it to bring it up to a luxurious standard. Some of the chalet buildings close to the hotel... More

Visited for afternoon tea. Sandwiches on good thick bread but fillings a little lacking in taste. Excellent scones. Mixture of nice and dry and disappointing cakes. OK - but don't think that I would return. Excellent service. Lovely surroundings.
