We went to The Boat House on a glorious sunny day.The views are splendid and Dads army looked after the grandaughter. The welcome inside was very warm and the food order arrived promplty. We were all pleased with our food and I would recommend the steak baguette. The barman was most courteous and had the wierdest beard I have ever seen.So... More

We went to The Boat House today for lunch with friends staying with us from Yorkshire It's a fabulous location and we went over on the Hovercraft from Southsea. The food was good. We had mushroom risotto with chicken, a steak, gammon sandwich and a fish pie. Everybody was happy. As the food was delivered to the table we asked... More

We enjoyed a delicious supper, well cooked, served by excellent staff in charming surroundings. A miserable storm ridden night was transformed. We enjoyed our supper even more as it was on a 2 for the price of 1. Definitely will return.

Not sure if this place wants to be a pub or a restaurant but works pretty well as both . Absolutely full on a Sunday and 2 hours table occupancy maximum allowed . Interesting food, hake with chorizo , borlotti bean risotto , very good deserts , good beer, friendly staff. Table with a view of the sea worth booking... More

A regular winter eating place, summer a little too busy for us but standards are still high , food never fails to impress, prices are reasonable, nice staff, and what a super outlook, even Dad's army in the garden

Met up, for lunch here, with our family who live on the Island; so they know a good place to eat and enjoy a bottle of wine, at reasonable rates. Enjoyed the food, the wine, the lovely warm log fire (on a chilly, windy day) and the friendly staff welcome. An added bonus, for me, was the disabled loo facility.... More

The Boat House has a wine bar atmosphere and is welcoming. The only disadvantage of the parquet floors is that when the restaurant is crowded, it can be a bit clattery. The menu looks pretty standard but the food is home-cooked, fresh and often innovative. Recommend!!

We had a weekend break at the Boathouse, staying Friday & Saturday night, which was a lovely surprise for me that was organised by my partner. The staff were very welcoming and friendly upon arrival and we were showed to our room upstairs. The room was spacious, clean, bright, well appointed and had a sea view. The bathroom was large,... The Boat House provides very comfortable accommodation with great views across The Solent in a handy position for accessing Seaview and for touring the island. The included breakfast is good and having seen how large the full English breakfast was were able to pick and choose what we wanted. Choice of places to eat in and around Seaview were limited...
