Great base to explore the Isle of Wight. Hotel rooms very comfortable and clean. We had a room at the back of the hotel which was preferable to being on the street side. Parking provided for guests and very good buffet breakfast. WiFi is available in the hotel but not in the room.

Just had a lovely weekend based here - perfect for accessing all transport on the Island plus ferry or hovercraft to the mainland. The staff were all friendly and helpful - including the chef, Tim, who made me a superb eggs benedict birthday breakfast! Our room was clean and comfortable, and very spacious, although a little tlc to the fixtures... More

We enjoyed our stay here on two occasions within a few days but some areas, though clean and tidy, could do with a bit of modernisation including the bathrooms in the two rooms we had. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful and the public areas quite charming and good for meeting up with people.

I recently stayed here before a music concert and what a waste of money. The room was at the front overlooking the high street and that was the first problem. Also the room was very tired and outdated. The corridors around the bedrooms were littered with rubbish and dirty linen as the housekeepers tried to keep up. Not a good... More

A friend and I spent a weekend at this attractive old coaching inn. I feel that the staff were very approachable, efficient and kind. The evening meals were excellent: well-cooked, well-presented and at a very reasonable price. Both my friend and I are very 'fussy' about food, and we were really pleased with the food and the presentation. The room... More

I booked this hotel on line for a one night stay, never having stayed in Ryde before. I was made to feel welcome from the moment I booked in until I left the following day. The room was very homely and comfortable with plenty of tea and coffee. I made a booking in the Dutch Room for dinner where the... More

Was gutted to find that the current manager is leaving at the end of the month, to follow a new career. Over the last few years the manager has built an amazing team, focused on creating good customer service, and acquired an excellent chef. As a regular for over 30 years the current manager has been among the best and... More

We took a risk a couple of weeks ago and just decided on a whim to visit the Isle of Wight and not book any accommodation as we thought everything would have quietened down. WRONG! After being told too many times "no room at the inn" or silly prices, we pitched up at Yelfs. The lovely helpful receptionist was able... More

Like most things on the Isle of Wight, you need a time machine to get to them. The hotel is a little dated. Bedroom was clean but basic. Service was erratic. Bar food was very good and well priced. Breakfast adequate. My brother and I stayed here for 6 and 4 nights respectively. We wanted something in the middle of... More
