Visited three times on own and with friends. Friendly bar staff. :) Good selection of food but not tried it yet. Will visit again. Good layout of pub. Nice atmosphere. Good selection of beers etc. Not too busy like some places can be in ryde.

Another year passes and we are back at the crown. Why do we keep coming back - value for money, friendly landlord, good looking bar staff (even the girls!). Great location between a cash point and the kebab shop, close to the seafront, off street parking for scooters. No frills but no pretentiousness either. Roll on 2015, when we shall... More

I stay here every August Bank Holiday. It's a family run business set on a traditional pub. The location is excellent between the main shops and down the hill to the seafront. The rooms were clean and the linen of a good quality. The furniture in the room was a little old but perfectly functional. Tea coffee and kettle to... More

I had booked two nights at the hotel. We arrived shortly before 11 in the morning and the doors to the hotel were locked. So we stood outside in the rain only to hear someone fumbling with keys on the other side unlocking the door. She apologized, said she didn't realize how late it was. Surprisingly there is no hotel... More

This is a scruffy down at heel pub where the same people seem to stand on the spot and drink and swear all day long. One of the friendly locals (who was complaining loudly and with many expletives about his recent arrest for punching someone) suggested it was inappropriate that we bring children into the building through the main entrance,... We needed two single rooms for one night and The Crown Hotel was our last port of call. The prices were dear for what we wanted but some shrewd bargaining later and we ended up with the rooms. At first the place looked tired and run down. The rat run of corridors and stairs started a horrible picture of what... More

We booked an overnight stay in The Crown Hotel having stayed the previous night in another Hotel elsewhere on the Island . We had booked a double room but where put in a double which was cramped , the shower cubicle was tiny and you could hardly turn around . The Hotel the night before had a 24 hr reception... More

The staff were very pleasant. The meal was however horrible. A Ploughmans lunch with supermarket bought col slaw, par bake bread and cheese strait out the packet. The pickle was good. forget the rest. Not good enough! I really looked forward to that lunch and it was just awful!

The Crown Hotel was perfect for our needs. It was a clean place to stay, we had a shower and the English Breakfast was delicious! Furthermore there is a pub down stairs that has a great selection of lagers, ales, and ciders on tap. It also has a great atmosphere to watch a footy match The staff is polite and... More
