Needed to get to the Isle of Wight to visit my brother and found the Crown on the Internet , called the number and booked in for one night , had to ask again when told an ensuite double room was only £25 a night for one person or £45 for two people. I did read the varied reviews ,... More

I had no high expectations of this hotel, as at £25 a night it was simply a place to sleep, as long as it was clean that was ok with me. I didn't actually get to see the standard of accommodation as when I arrived the hotel was closed! I knocked (there was no sign of a bell), very loudly... More

We stayed here September 2014 and we came back in March 2015. We have two kids age 5 and 17months. The staff were nice the room is basic but comfortable clean Which is all we really needed. I have family in ryde and would stay again :-)

Visited Ryde and decided to stay over. The Crown is a great pub, however, the accommodation is basic to say the least and is not worth the money considering we found a much better place to spend night 4 of our stay. Please do not be fooled into a false sense of security due to it's centralised location. Much better... More

Popped in for a drink & to see if it was a viable place to stay. What a dark, dismal place it is. The manager was extremely unfriendly (positively rude) & the atmosphere was lacking. Needless to say we didn't stay for long & we were glad to escape into the warmth of the winter sunshine!

We came with 4 other friends for NYE in Ryde. The staff informed our other friends that it didn't matter which room they took as the 2 they were choosing from "were identical". One was a double room above the room that had the DJ for the night, and had a door which opened into a room that was part... More

I've stayed here for the past few years in June for the Isle of Wight festival. Yes, parts of the hotel are a little tired but you're not paying Ritz prices so don't expect Ritz standards! It's value for money, all the staff are friendly and helpful and the food is good. It's in a great location for access to... More

I was forced to stay at this establishment on sat night (with huge prior reservations !) and shared a room with my nephew. we arrived @ 4 pm to check in ............. dumped our bags off in a boiling hot room 7 and headed to our intended ice hockey event in ryde !. At 2 am we arrived back at... More

I'm trying to be fair here. We had a one night stay, booking two twin rooms and a single. Room 1, the single, and Room 11, a twin, were fine. Clean and tidy. Room 7, another twin, looked good as well, although heating turned to full. On returning after a night out, got into bed to find massive wet patch... More

I fancied a night out on the Island and needed somewhere to spend the night. Rang the day before to reserve our room, arrived following afternoon, the lady on the bar showed us to the room, how to get back in after hours and when asked told us of a ghost that sang. We dropped our bags and went out,... More
